US dollars is the second currency Jamaica - you will find almost everywhere takes it.
Selected ATMs also dispense US$ as well as Jamaican. The cambios tend to give you the best rate - but you should check this out locally - the banks are not competitive and the queues are off-putting.

American money is taken almost everywhere in Jamaica. When you go there be sure to take lots of small bills such as $1s and $5s. These are great for tipping and buying small items. Jamaican law requires businesses to give change back in Jamaican money. So if you pay for items with large bills you will have more Jamaican money than you want. Using both can be confusing so use US Dollars and you will be fine.

Yes, they definitely take US dollars in Jamaica. Remeber the exchange rate when you go. It's 65:1 (65 Jamaican to every 1 US). It's kind of funny because when you see advertisements, a cellphone costs 2,500 Jamaican dollars or a car costs between 250,000 - 600,000 Jamaican dollars. Also, people down there don't make a lot of money compared to the United States - the average Jamaican person makes 40 US dollars per week.
And, be careful if you're going to take a taxi. The driver will try to charge you $200 US dollars for a 20 minute ride. Make sure you get ALL the details before you get in the cab!
