No you do not.

"These territories are a part of the United States. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the U.S. territory and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands."

I don't believe that you need a passport as an American to go to Puerto Rico.

No, you don't need a passport to go to any US held territory, PR or the US Virgin Islands and other places that I don't know about.

stella39
If you are a USA citizen no passport is needed. Photo ID and birth certificate. Puerto Rico is a territory of the US.

have a great trip

Puerto Rico is a territory of the US and a passport is not needed.

REnate
I don't think so because Puerto Rico is an American held territory.

Get the forms at your post office.

roundater
they are not required for us citizens travelling between the mainland and us territories.

Hi Princess, If you are a United States Citizen all you need is 2 id's that state who you are and where you are from. Then again, I do recommend you get a passport but it is not required as long as you are a citizen. You can also have a birth certificate with you if you want to feel more secure. I am puertorican. Best night life found in San Juan area,Best beaches go to the east coast like Fajardo, but if possible, rent a car, get a map and drive around the coast line in almost a day. Visit Arecibo to see the biggest radar in the world. visit camuy and its caves, Visit Ponce. There you will find a huge aquatic park and a car race track. Then at night go the the center of the town and visit La cruceta del Vigia where you will be able to see the whole town lights. Last but not least in Ponce, visit the parque indigena and learn about the indians in Puerto Rico and its customs. It will be a great experience. My husband is from Oregon and he loves going to Puerto Rico.

NO! Puerto Rico is US territory. I thought you would learn that in school. Obviously not.
