Do you advise going to Barbados in mid July? |
We are planning on booking a holiday to Barbados but have been advised against doing so in the month of July due to there being lots of rain daily. We picked the caribbean as a good spot for our holiday because we want a sun holiday; tanning, swimming, beach etc. If anyone has been before during mid-july onwards to the start of August, please give your opinion!!
Thanks |

i doesn't matter what time around you come, barbados is at its hottest in the summer. like now is really cool because its snowing in other countries so we get the breeze. generally the weather is always nice, even if you experience rain it's usually only scattered showers and that's not a problem. people here hardly consider walking around with umbreallas as it is cool. my advice to you is to stay over on the west coast (st.james) it's REALLY nice and so are the hotels, accomodation is affordable ( my dad is in the hotel industry so i know) and it's fun..plus try to visit Harrion's Cave..it's an underground tunnel with stallatites and stallagmites (kinda frozen water hung upsided down ..and little pools everyway...very beautiful indeed, make sure you have a camera.
btw: if you are definitely up for absolutely no rain, stay in the north, but the fun is in the west.
hope u do enjoy ur stay. |

July signals the beginning of the wet season in Barbados. Vacationers taking advantage of the off-season should not be concerned however, as although showers are likely, they are generally quick and the sun emerges shortly after.
Temperatures in Barbados during July generally vary between an average high during the day of 85.0 fahrenhero (29Âșc) degrees and an average low at night of 78.0 (25Âșc) degrees
Have a great time!! |

My friend went there about 3 years ago, but she went in August and the temperatures got up to nearly 40 (Celsius) i do not know what it is like in mid July, but i know she had fab weather when she went. |

The temperature is more or less the same the whole year. However there tends to be more rain in the summer months. There is the outside chance of hurricanes and tropical storms, but Barbados tends to miss most. I have been in September which was fine and in February which was better. However, the period December-March is the peak season for North Americans to escape their winter. Prices are therefore higher then. There will be more rain in July but short sharp showers. It's a lovely climate. Always a breeze blowing to temper the heat. |

I was in Barbados two years ago in August. It was generally partly sunny with a few short showers a day. Not a big deal at all. Have fun! |

Go for it!
I went to the dominican republic last march and it rained loads in the first week but it was only quick bursts of heavy rain it was really refreshing and we were usually wet already appart from one night we planned to go out to the beach for dinner but there was a sudden down pour and the swimming pool flooded so we just stayed at the hotel and had a laugh in the pool!
if you do go please rememeber to wear suncream even if it is raining... we did make this mistake and boy did we pay the next day~!
