Through the end of 2006, you only need a birth certificate with a raised seal from the issuing state. If your name on your ID does not match the name on your birth certificate, you will need a copy of your marriage license or divorce decree.
In 2007, you will need a passport to fly to anywhere outside of the United States.
Have fun on your trip! |

You do not need a passport or birth certificate to go to PR from the states, PR is a territory and all puertorricans are american citizens. When the new law everyone is talking about here is in effect, you will not need a passport to go to PR either. This law is only for international travel. You will never need a passport to fly for the mainland US to Hawaii, Alaska, PR or the US Virgin Islands. |

As of today, no. But very soon you'll need a passport to go anywhere outside the US.
You might as well get one now if you're planning on travelling in the future. |

No. It's considered a U.S. territory. However, airports require a form of I.D. (picture), so a passport is always handy. Otherwise two forms of I.D. (license, social security card, etc.) |
