The "L" Word

Generally it depends on your citizenship. U.S. citizens can travel visa-free throughout the entire Caribbean with the exception of Cuba, which requires visas from U.S. Citizens. Since the U.S. has imposed an economic embargo against Cuba since 1960, Cuba has been very lenient with visa requirements and allows thousands of American tourists to enter the island without a visa since they need the cold hard cash to keep their economy afloat. Therefore, only U.S. citizens who travel to Cuba legally with a U.S. Treasury license are required to have Cuban visas.
Therefore, the best thing is to check the official tourism web page of the nation(s) you are planning on visiting and check their entry requirements according to your citizenship. |

1. Sophie is right, the Caribbean consists of many states. Some requires visas, others not.
2. Decide where you want to go. make a list.
3. Then go the Foreign Office website www.fco.gov.uk if you have a UK passport. It allows you to look up what you need for all countries in the world. Or ring the Embassy or High Commission of the countries in London or look up their website.
4. If you cannot find that then google the specific country orlook it up on the Lonely Planet website.

I've visited Barbados twice in the last few years and as a UK citizen, no, we didn't need a Visa. From memory, I think you have to pay some sort of a tax when you arrive at the airport and it is quite a slow process after the 8 hour flight from the UK. However, the rest of the holiday to Barbados is heaven on earth! |

You would be better off using a boat. |

you need a visa to go to dominican republic, but this is available on arrival. you also have to pay some kind of tax. these charges also incur on the return flight. |
