YEA, SO SINCE YOU ONLY GOT A LITTLE PIECE OF TIME MUCHACHO, AND YOU WANT THE REAL BIG AND BEST RESORTS ON THE BEACH WITH LOTS OF BIG POOLS AND REAL BIG GAMEROOMS AND COOL WATER SPORTS , GO TO PUNTA CANA . MAINLY BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THESE RESORTS ARE 4 AND 5 STAR RESORTS AS OPPOSED TO THE MOSTLY 3 STAR RESORTS THAT YOULL FIND IN PUERTA PLATA AND WILL DEFINITLY OFFER YOU ALOT MORE ACTIVITY , BUT YOU CAN AND SHOULD CHECK OUT THESE PADS ON YOUR OWN ON LINE AND DECIDE WHATS BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY , YA FOLLOW ME ? THE RESORTS IN P.C ARE COOL IF YOU DONT WANT TO DO OR EXPERIENCE ANYTHING IN THE COUNTRY EXCEPT A WATER SLIDE SLAPPIN YOUR BUTTS , BUT IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE SOME OF THE DOMINICAN CULTURE AND TAKE SOME REALLY COOL EXCURSIONS , YOU HAVE TO COMPROMISE A FEW VIDEO GAMES AND A CHARACTER BREAKFAST TO DO IT . DIG ? BUT DONT CRY GUY ! EVEN THOUGH YOU WONT FIND ANYTHING CLOSE TO TYPHOON LAGOON OR A MOUSE EAR IN THIS PART OF CIVILIZATION , (EXCEPT OCEAN WORLD ), MOST OF THE RESORTS IN PLAYA DORADA AND THE PUERTA PLATA ZONE WILL GIVE YOU ATLEAST A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING YOUR LOOKIN FOR WITH ALOT LESS FIREWORKS . " AND FOR ALOT CHEAPER" ..........YEA, CHECK IT OUT !

i have persnally stayed at Rui Bachata and Iberostar Costa DOrado both in the Puerto Plata area...Both area great for family s and offer activiteis( excursions, water sports). both are located on the beach and also have large pool areas. Every day the offer some osrt of activites in the poola rea or on the beach (bbq, etc.)
i perfer Iberostar its alot nicer but i bit more expensive...also try cheaperthanhotels,com the offer really great discounts for these hotels just makes sure to book in advance...i use them all the time =] good luck and enoy and bring lots of sun block...i went in febuary and the sun was brutal..

The RIU Palace, Punta Cana is lovely! It's a large compound and if you stay at one RIU resort, you can use the facilities at all 5 resorts. They're connected via the beach. There's plenty to do. The food is fabulous. The beach is incredible. Have fun!

Occidental grand Punta Cana It also has a ton of stuff to do and both these places are in the top 10 selling resorts in the Caribbean go to the link below and read resort reviews it links you to trip advisor then go to there travel tips page and you can find links to other places in the caribbean, puerto plata has brown beaches and the ones in punta cana are beautiful white beaches

WHY DONT YOU GOT TO sea world orlando or in water country usa? they have a big pool with waves and also you have a lot of things to do there they have plenty of slides and also some water sports i highly recommend that friend.. chechk their site for you to see or if you where located in the philippines try to visit mt. sea resorts in cavite..
