Do you think it s courteous to have a wedding in the bahamas and the guest have to pay to attend the wedding?

my family member is having her wedding in the bahamas because it was too expensive to have it in our town. she expects everyone to be there if a person can't make it she becomes upset. i am going to attend and it is costing me alot of money. is she being courteous ?

No she's being a spoiled brat!
She should have had a cheaper ceremony if it was that important to her to have everybody attend.

Charlie
This is probably NOT new behavior for her...and not the last time she will put HER wants ahead of others. It IS her wedding and she can do as she pleases. others, of ,course can do as they please...or need to according to their means. Just be courteous, send your regrets and an appropriate gift, and totally ignore her whinining.

no shes being a cheap selfish biiiiiiiitch

I think that's a bit much to expect everyone to fork out the money for the trip to the Bahamas for her wedding.

That is rude and not very courteous of her. Wow!

No but its her wedding and she probly wants everything to be perfect its starting to get real expensive but umm u can enjoy ur visit there!

Getting upset is the discourteous part, but outside of that she must understand and sympathize with those who can't make it. For those who can't she should be considerate of the fact that they can't make it and maybe throw a last engagement after their return, that way they can celebrate the new marriage with them regardless of location

Most people have a destination wedding, because they want it to be intimate...it's a way to get less people to come. That is extremely inconsiderate of her. My wedding is in the states, and I understand that some people can't fly out from other states; let alone go to another country. She is going to be very upset, becauese you aren't the only one having trouble paying for it. I'm sure MANY people won't be able to make it. It costs a lot for a vacation like that.
