Do you think my mom should go to aruba on sunday because of the virus?
she is 51 and in good health Additional Details ok let me tell ya how it works of course it effects your health because if your ammune system is not fully devoleped like the baby that died or if your immune system is too week to fight it like if your a senior citzen
Does your mother work with the public? If so she is more likely to catch swine flu then. If your mother use the precautions of washing her hands often and using a mask until reaching Aruba she should do fine. Even though she does all of these things during her travel she could still have a 50% chance of getting sick. But that's the same percent chance by going to Walmart or any public area here in the states. I'm sure your mother is an intelligent lady and will take all precautions to stay health. Aruba is a very beautiful place and she should enjoy herself and this opportunity. I read that 23 month baby had visited Mexico weeks ago. God Bless

your mother is safer here then in the US. Believe me. this is not a ghetto island where everyone is poor. We can treat anyone if they catch anytype of flue, And i bet she's not gonna get any. believe me.

I would say its better to be safe than sorry.. millions of people travel through airports and on public transportation everyday. You never know if just one of those people could have it.
suki's mom
There are no cases yet reported on the island and authorities are keeping a close watch, mostly because Aruba is a tourist island with sometimes (depending on the cruise ships) thousands of visitors a day. So I think the destination in itself is safe for now and hopefully it'll stay that way.
FloridaGirl
sure. aruba is probably safer than here.
make her buy some n95 masks, just in case. not the regular surgical ones, they don't help.
so curious
NOO!!!!! Her good health will have nothing to do with her not catching the virus go to swin.com.
