Puerto Rico is part of the US....No passport is required. Enjoy your stay at Sunny PR.
As a recommendation for you, PR has fascinating views, beaches, food and the people (culture).
Before coming over, my recommendation:
- Learn to dance Salsa, Merengue and Raggaeton - 3 of the most popular musics in PR. PR's night life is the best.
- Prepare a list of areas to see - Do not limit yourself to a hotel pool, PR has much to offer. Check out PR sites or when you arrive at the airport, there is a book called Que Pasa that you have to pick up to see everything you can do.
- The Beaches are gorgeous. Take a day and go to Flamenco Beach in Culebra - You will love it.
- If you like to gamble - we have casinos everywhere.
Enjoy your stay at PR |

The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the United States and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

First of all I think they call it Puerto Rico, and secondly it is almost a state of the USA, sort of one of their playgrounds anyway so probably yes. Check with the travel agency that has bookings for Puerto Rico. |

PR is a US territory, so you do not need a passport to travel from the US to Puerto Rico and back. State issued ID such as driver's license is sufficient.
However, it is not a bad idea to have a second ID such as a passport - which you may keep in a safe place at your hotel - in case your wallet is lost or stolen, so you can have an ID to board the plane back to the states. [Same recommendation applies to any long air travel between states in which is not feasible to drive back in case you lose your ID to board the plane. For example, I live in Hawaii and always carry a second ID when I travel to the US mainland.]
Have fun in PR. |

Yep, just about everywhere you'll need a passport to come back to the US, though not necessarily to get into that country. Take it! |

No you won't need a passport. Puerto Rico is a US territory so it's like going to another state. Have a good trip! |
