Does anyone know of a good website to find deals on airline tickets?

I'm planning a trip to Puerto Rico and I want to make sure I check out all deals before commiting to one. I hate purchasing tickets and then finding out I could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else.

You are better off going directly the airlines website, because most of the discount places charge you more for their services. For example right now Continental.com tickets to PR from Newark are around $158 round trip.

Expedia.com seems to consistently have the lowest airfares to the Caribbean.

Two major things to remember when buying air. First, buy it as far in advance as possible. Rates are going to go up as you get closer, that is just how it works. Second, you need to prepare to see rates that are lower than what you paid. It just seems to be the way it happens. Find a deal you are happy with and then stay away from those site. Then you won't know the raters are lower. Here are some more ideas:

You need to go to several different sites to price it out and then see who offers the lowest rates. This will be the best way to find out.

All the online discounters are all pretty safe to go through. Just be sure you understand policies, etc. in case you need to cancel or change your flight. Look over what you book several times to make sure it is what you want/need. As far as the one site that is the best, it's really hard to tell you. They will all vary and change all the time. One site may be lower for one person, higher for the next. You just have to do your research and see what yo find. In my expereince, the cheapest way to go is directly through the airline. In my past dozen trips, that I can remember, the airline has always been cheaper than the online discounters. Just look around and see what you can find.

Check around online. There are several online discounters, like expedia, priceline, orbitz, etc. This is usually the cheapest way to go. But you should also check directly through airline sites to see if they are running a special. It is also easier to make changes if you use the airline directly instead of a discounter. For example, air tran often offers discounted tickets on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it is cheaper than through other online sites. I prefer to go with the air sites directly. Not only are they usually a less than discounters, but if you have to make a change or cancel, it is a lot easier than going with the discounters. Also watch in the newspapers and such, they often advertise specials in the newspaper .

Hope this helps!

The best I have found is listed below, gives a number of options to choose from and it does all the research for you.
Depending on where you are leaving from, I just got a $99 one way fare from Newark, NY (We are going to San Juan for a cruise that will come back to NYC) and that is on AA, but have to believe round trip tickets are just as good of a deal if not better.

orbitz.com or cheaptickets.com

Although generally the last respondent's statement about early booking is true; some fantastic deals can be made on last minute travel! I have never paid more than $340 RT to the Caribbean....and am traveling again this July. I go at least once, sometimes twice a year.

Go to Vacationstogo.com...check out these deals.

You can also go to priceline.com...two major ways to get a deal...let them choose the flights...OR name your own price..they will search and then give you the results. Only draw back is when naming your own price, you must pay upfront....which can be a drag, especially if the flight they've chosen, though dirt cheap; involves several stops.

Go to expedia.com, orbitz.com, or travelocity.com
