Does anyone know why I cannot book a flight to Cuba? |
I've been trying to book a flight on-line to Cuba for vacation. Apparently Cuba is not allowing flights from the U.S. Is there still conflict between the U.S and Cuba which does not allow travel to Cuba even if you are a U.S citizen? |

WOW.......Very Good Anwers But I have a sense that many who have answered your question have not experienced CUBA firsthand and beleive what the media feeds false information about CUBA. Of course, people wont go because THE GOVERNMENT told us not to go!
I myself have traveled to Cuba just recently and plan to go back. You can go through a third country such as Canada and Mexico and NO, the Cuban Immigration DOES NOT STAMP your passport. You will have a seperate visa for the immigration official to stamp. I recommend that you take a flight out of Mexico to Cuba. I personally like Mexicana Air, since they dont "Nickel & Dime" you for extra drinks and the alcohol is "FREE", yes "FREE". Enjoy your trip to Cuba!
VIVA CUBA! |

How long have you been cognizant in the 20th and 21st centuries? You cannot book travel to Cuba (ESPECIALLY IF you are a US citizen) because the US State Dept. forbids it - its illegal.
The only persons who are granted permission to visit the dictator controlled, human rights violating nation are those with scholarly or artistic special permissions. Even US citizen, former Cuban nationals are not free to visit the island whenever they like (although, frankly, most of them don't want to give Castro a single US dollar to pursue his cruel and inhuman government's objectives). |

there aren't any direct flights from the u.s. to cuba. so if you want to go there, you must go to a different country where there are flights to cuba. maybe some other countries in the caribbean would work. |

Cuba welcomes US citizens to visit. The USA however does not allow her citizens to visit Cuba except under very limited conditions. There were flights from Miami to various airports in Cuba but you'd need to have all your paperwork in order. Most of the Americans that visit Cuba do so by sneaking in through another country like Canada, Mexico or the Bahamas. Prior to 9/11 Cuba was seeing close to 100,000 US visitors a year. That number dropped post 9/11 as did almost all travel by US citizens but is now starting to rise again. |

To go to Cuba legally, you must travel under a special licensed tour operator, only a couple of them around. They specialize in Humanitarian tours; People to People tours no longer allowed.
Politicians, news media, doctors, muscians and a few other are allowed if for the right reason.
A regular travel agent cannot book you, it is against the law and they could get fined and not be able to operate.. Continental Airlines flies their from Miami, daily, under the name of Gulf Stream Airlines, and their planes are usually full.....but mostly with former Cuban residents returning home for a visit. They use to be able to go every year to visit family, but now I think it is every 3 years.
Was there 2 years ago on legal tour of People to People. Had a great time and would go back again. The people there, like here in the US, are great.....it's our politicians, and theirs, that mess things up. Mainly ours, who cant stand a country that wont become one of their puppet. Also, the rich Cubans in Miami, etc. can't forget what they lost, etc., and are politically strong in the U.S.in preventing opening up Cuba. We can go to China, Cambodia, Russia, Iran, Viet Nam and even Libya is selling tours in the US; and we can't go to Cuba. Dumb! That's politics!! |

If still this in the same thing. Almost no North American can go to vat unless it is a special case and that would have to see it. You would have to go for other countries and to make scale I not suppose you well like the thing works but for what I have heard anything. Am I Cuban and do your raisins work to go for vat and me to go for it uses that it not sews? |

U.S. citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba.
The only way to accomplish this is by flying first to another country, such as Mexico. From there, when you enter Cuba, you will have to bribe the officials so that they will not stamp your passport.
If you are a U.S. citizen, and you manage to get to Cuba - on your way back if the immigration officer sees that your passport has been stamped by Cuban authorities, you wil be thrown in jail. |

Wow, have you lived under a rock for the past...... TWENTY years?
The US and Cuba do not get along. I would not want to go there anyway. People escape Cuba on rafts and stuff so they can become citizens here.
That's as bad as wanting to visit Guatemala. |

If a US citizen is caught traveling to Cuba - the consequences can be severe - up to a $500,000.00 fine or worse. Even if you are caught leaving and returning from another country. I know somebody who has a green card in the US and didn't think the consequences are worth a trip to Cuba. |

There is a boycott going on since the 60's. If you insist on traveling to Cuba, you have to explore other routes. One possibility is to go via Caracas, Venezuela. Mind you that US citizens that travel to Cuba will be registered by your government in Washington. |
