No. I was in Puntacana, and although the beach was fantastic and so was the resort (Bavaro Palace) , I did not feel safe outside and we were enclosed in a resort with a 2.5 metre wall! (I was later informed that some outsiders sneak in to burgle)

The way I was treated at the airport is something I will never forget either! What a humiliation.

I have been to better places, like Mykonos in Greece and Aruba in the Caribbean. where the locals love tourist and not vultured by money-hungry people breathing down you neck as you shop.

Sorry but I won't go back - ever.

YES of course Dominican Republic is the best place to have vacatios well your not going to want to go because its so beautiful that you do not want to go! lol but u can go to the beaches in puerto plata and punta cana there good i was there in july for vacacations and that was good wow the best time ever! wow
GOOD LUCK IN THAT BEAUTIFUL PLACE! DOMINICAN ROCKS!

Yes, it is a nice place, but stay far, far away from the all-inclusives. THe best is to just look for a small hotel in a tourist area near the beach. Your total costs will be about the same, and you will have a lot more fun than being cooped up in one of those tourist concentration-camps.

It's a very nice, beautiful place to spend a vacation, personally i would recommend somewhere else more, like Cancun, because the Dominican is very heavily guarded with police and machine guns, its very nice so long as you stay in your resort area though, at least at night

Yes Dominican republic is a beautiful place to spend your vacations. I was there about a month back and the experience was excellent specially if you go to an all inclusive resort. But you'll have to keep in mind the hurricane season , which i guess is going on right now. Have a blast

Happy Feet

I love this country!! The people and the views are wonderful! It is a very poor country, and unsafe outside of the resort areas. However, the beaches and the resorts are wonderful!

La Romana, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo are the top places where I would recommend staying. If you research a lot about the hotels in the area you want to stay in, you will see there is so much to do. Snorkeling, Swimming, Golf, Spa treatments, and so much more.

I would higly recommend staying in this country, just stay in places where you know are safe.

Have fun!!!
