Hi, please keep in mind that there is Domincian Republic and Dominica and that should not be confused with each other.
I can only speak for Barbados and highly recommend it's the one island that has me keep coming back to. If you're all about budgetting, I can suggest Pegwell Inn Guest House which is close to amenities, especially the beaches, public transportation.
It's only $1.50 BDS per way with route taxis, mini buses and big buses, and across the street, there's Southern Plaza which has bank, shoe store, travel agency, barber shop (has hairstyling section there), even supermarket for your convience! Oh, the barber shop is cheap, too!
In its capital, Bridgetown, is known for its duty-free shopping, ranging from jewellery to alcohol to clothing to shoes. If you are wanting to buy clothes, keep in mind some stores can be expensive, while others can be really cheap, like SHAFT.
Do not pass this beautiful country up. The locals are friendly, the beaches are beautiful.
If you want a nice place to dine, I can recommend The Coach House, the food is soo delicious but it may be expensive. There are other places, too.
St. Lawrence Gap has a various of clubs (The Ship Inn, Reggae Lounge to name a few), especially hotels, restaurants/bars. There are clubs elsewhere which are Club Xtreme, Harbour Lights, & The Boatyard.
That is, if you're interested in nightlife.
Oistins is a fishing town, I mean, it's famous for frying fish, and this is of walking distance from Pegwell Inn Guest House.
You'll have a blast! |

I would go to Dominican Republic any day over the others. I've been to all three and the one I enjoyed the most was Dominican Republic because it had great beaches, great food/drinks, great people, and it was better priced than the others! Have fun!!! |
