When I went I took advantage of the free snorkel rental at my hotel and snorkeled right off the beach. There was a lot of coral and colorful fish not even 20ft out.
Also went parasailing, which was a blast.
And Swimming with Sharks was a lot of fun. Took us out not too far from shore, snorkeled in a reef, then into a habitat built for sting rays and nurse sharks. When that was done they took us on a boat tour along the coast with lots of music, dancing, and drinks. We even stopped off at a natural pool (far from shore, but shallow water) where they blasted music and served us drinks.

Don't worry, you'll have a great time!!!! I own a Scuba Diving travel agency & I book clients there all the time. You should try scuba diving if you can but don't pass up the opportunity to at least snorkel or skin dive. You can rent this equip. very cheaply & you can even go on charters with the scuba divers while you skin dive. The underwater visibility is so good (80-100 ft.) Also, check out other water sports like wind-surfing, kayaking, wave runners etc. You can find these sports right on the beach. Some are free & included in your hotel bill. Wind-surfing & kayaking are very cheap if they charge you but renting a wave runner is more money. Make sure you find a good beach & swimming pool. The weather is excellent & the water is warm. You might try horseback riding as well. Sometimes they do this right on the beach.

My friend went I had to stay home but it is Hot Hot Hot but thats good isn't it.She said not much to do but maybe stayed in a remote area. Beach is BEAUTIFUL.She stayed where there are 1000 palms.Sounds great to me.

i am going to punta cana the beginning of march, my first time, super excited, and we are for sure going to do the zip line excursion ($89 pp) and catarman cruise ($60 pp) i just googled excursions in punta cana and this website popped up with a bunch of excursions that are offered. i have been told that i can book these excursions through our hotel. other than that i plan on hanging out at our resort drinking and and enjoying the warmth!! Minneapolis has been cold!!
