I will be travelling to the dominican republic next week with my family. We will be staying at the iberostar costa dorada in puerto plata. Can anyone tell me what the weathers like at the moment because all forecasts i see are for thunderstorms everyday. Is this true? And how long do they last? Additional Details Already been to this hotel and it was fantastic. Found the people who were ill we those that drank stupid amounts of alcohol, sat out in the sun and got sun stroke and stuffed their faces. None of our family was ill once ....... which is a miracle as were usually ill just going to places like devon. So i'm not at all worried about that
doooooo not worry about the weather. I was there 3 weeks ago, and it was like 40 degrees everyday. there was one storm and it was warm rain and amazing to see:D

The forcast almost always shows thunderstorms. It usually does not rain like that and when it does rain storms are heavy but very short and sun comes right back out. We have been twice and both times people here thougt our vacation was ruined because of the forcasts they saw and we saw rain only 3 times total for both trips, one night storm and two short 10-15 minutes downpours but the sun came right out afterward and dried everything up quickly. Enjoy!

Dont worry everything will be good and if there is a storm its usually hotter the next day so its a bonus!

ooh - lucky lucky thing!! Don't know about the weather right now but when we went, if there was a thunderstorm or rain - it normally happened at night and by the next morning everything was dry and sunny and hot again!! Enjoy your holiday!!
I would be more worried about your insides than the weather - I know several people that have been to this place and all have had food poisoning and spent the whole holiday in bed or worse - a Dom Rep hospital
