Crazy Eagle

Dutch folks in the Caribbean?

Which islands, if any, have a large Dutch presence? Curacao? And do you notice it, as in a lot of over 6' tall individuals?

Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St. Maarten, Saba, St. Eustatias are all Dutch colonies. Curacao in particular has a very large dutch community. With Dutch cafes and bars sprawling most parts of the island. Dutch people are mostly tall and on an average you could see the men and women to be over 6 feet easily. Some go till 6.7 too. The women have a large body and are more masculine in thier features.

Curacao has a very large Dutch presence. Lots of Dutch people go to Curacao after they retire, and many of them also just move there to work and live. Being a Dutch teritorry, it is pretty easy for them to move there as well. And yes, you will find plenty of them that are over 6" tall.

I once met two Dutchmen in a small village about an hour's drive east of Port Antonio, Jamaica. One was average height. The other was large but I couldn't say if he was over 6' tall.

Cherry_Blossom
Aruba is a Dutch colony

Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St. Maarten...I think St. Baarth's too. These have a very strong Dutch influence. I remember the Queen Beatrix was in Aruba when I there in November, so there are still some strong ties...

fabee
M2 is entirely right Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao is called ABC and Sint Marteen is the last one.

FeatherHead
The ABC islands...Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. As well as St. Marten. The people are no taller than anywhere else.
