Oh yes, its worth the money and time. Its not boring and you have the best of both worlds because you have the falls and the beach there. |

If you are one who enjoys nature and beautiful scenery then it is definitely worth your time and it really isn't that expensive. Then there is the amazing water activities. |

A lot depends on when you climb it. If there has been rain in the mountain then the river is higher and more fun. If you do during dry season and the river is low, it gets kind of boring. Dunn's River Falls is an event you should do one time in your life, and possibly again after about 15 years from the initial climb. Enjoy. |

Yes it is worth it and more... but Jamaica is not only Dunn's River Falls. Try YS Falls in St. Elizabeth..... White sands of the Negril Beach...... Mystic Mountain..... Swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove...... Party all night at Margaritaville in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay or Negril. There are so many places to go and things to do unlike the other caribbean countries you cannot see all or most of Jamaica in one day not even in a week so just come and take it bit by bit. And with the first bit you will be bitten for life. You have to ask the question with all the bad press Jamaica gets we are still one of if not the number one caribbean destination. You don't believe check this out......http://www.onecaribbean.org/content/files/Dec9Lattab08.pdf |

Dunns River is OK. It was packed with tourists when I climbed it though, so that wasn't so great. I had more fun at the local market. While climbing the falls I slipped and slid right down, so that part wasn't so excellent. I was too excited and didn't want to stop the climb every two seconds to WAIT IN LINE WHILE CLIMBING. That was really annoying. Plus, tour guides we refused to utilize were asking for tips at the end and splashing us. Get real. In conclusion, I recommend this tour for those who do not enjoy negotiating with locals at the market. That is the alternative activity and I much preferred it, as I can walk away and they will honour the price I am willing to pay. If the market is not your scene, Dunns River it is! Just be prepared to stop every few feet of the climb because you'll have to wait in line the whole time you're climbing. |

Hey.I went to Dunns River Falls this summer in Jamaica and I stayed at sunset grande jamaica hotel. It was pretty fun for me and I was 16 at the time.I went with my mom and sisters. Its better if you climb it with someone cause it can be pretty boring if you go alone. You def need water shoes and it was worth the money.I think ti takes like 45-1 hour to climb the falls plus theres a beach nearby on the actual location site along with stores. When I went we got a guide to take us up the falls and they actually have men with cameras where you pay 35 for a whole role of flim and they take pictures of you going up the falls. If you are jamaican you pay less than the tourists so try to see if you can get a jamaican to buy it even though they ask to see the people the tickets are being bought for.Even though my parents are jamaicans who immigrated to America they still wanted to charge us the american fare until my mom talked them out of it.Another place not to go to is the white whitch of rose halls house in MontegoBay.I Thought it was going to be so cool but when I went it was just like a boring mansion house with i think three or four bedrooms. |

It is worth the money and the experience is great. I got to witness a murder during my trip. We had just finished climbing the waterfall and we were on our way back to the bus. There is a little marketplace on the way to the bus and one salesman started stabbing another salesman with a machete. We found out later that day the one guy died and they were arguing over $4 US dollars. That's how you can tell the poverty over there is bad. I'm sure that wont happen again, just wanted to share my story, but yes the excursion is definitely worth the money. Get the DVD of your group climbing the falls too, that was worth the $10 too. |
