Yes, we went for 5 nights in May. PERFECT, we stayed at the Ibeostar Bavaro and it was amazing! All the people are friendly and very willing to help. We tipped everyone that did anything for us $1. We each took $100 in ones and then $200. We never ran out of money or things to do! And the beach, WOW it was amazing. Go on a snorkling excursion and swim with sharks and stingrays! FABULOUS!!!! ****** stars!! |

yes, I went in November.
It's beautiful country, not alot of tourist traps yet, so if it's peace, quiet and nature you crave the DR will be for you.
Just be wary of the food, I got sick, alot of people I know got sick from food (all @ different times, different resorts etc) take acidopholius ( regrettably I forgot mine!) it helps your stomache adjust to the new cuisine!! |

Yes we stayed at the brand new Riu Palace Punta Cana the week of May 20th of this year. It was one of the best vacations I have ever experienced. The people we so friendly and the Riu Palace was first rate. Brush up on you Spanish as it will help. I am sure there are other great resorts there but The Riu was great. Also it will be hard to find beaches that rival Punta Cana is sheer beauty. Hope this helps a little. |

Beautiful!!!!! Very hot, but very nice. They are dirt poor, so take singles along and tip often. You will get the world from them if you do so...
Enjoy. I went 4 years ago for the first time, and have been back every year since. |

stay at one of the Riu properties...here if you stay at the riu palace macao or the riu palace punta cana...you have access to all the other properties in the area....

Stayed at the Secrets Excellence hotel in Punta Cana last August. It was the most relaxing vacation I ever had. Great people and lot's of sun !
The local people and hotel workers are poor and really work hard for their money. We took along lot's of single dollar bills to tip with and they are very appreciative. I also brought along lots of coloring books, crayons, puzzles, etc to give to the local kids and also donated some of them to the local school.
