In your first question you ask for a cheap all inclusive hotel and now you are asking for the Riu's? Of course Riu's are very good but they are not the cheapest ones...

Now I understand from this question that "cheap" is an understatement from you... Riu's are not the cheap resorts so what is your budget?...

I love the Riu. I stayed on Riu Bachata, Merengue, Mambo.

I work in a hotel in Puerto Plata, and yes the Riu's are very good. There are 3 of them here in Puerto Plata, but they are not cheap, but very good. If you want to book, do it on time!

I stayed in the Riu Niaboa (the cheapest!!) and I loved it! The beach is fantastic - the drinks are strong and good and the pool is lovely! I thought the staff were fantastic and the hotel was clean... The food was alright as well for an all inclusive - but lets face it you dont go to the Dominican Republic for the food!!

Saying that some people gave the Niaboa bad reviews on trip advisor but I never found any problems with it at all - it was one of the best holidays I have ever been on..

You have to do the trip to Saona....

I think Riu Palace Punta Cana is nicer. (the first one)

There are more Riu Resorts in Puerto Plata. Tripadvisor.com can help you find the best one.

Good Luck and enjoy the beauty of the Dominican Republic.)
