First of all, when you come to the island the Rio Mar Hotel there not be part of the westin family anymore, the hotel past this may to the Whyndham family, best for you because this chain of hotel carry the most luxury hotels in the island and you can visit the most beautyfull hotel in PR Whynham El Conquistador in Fajardo, near the Rio Mar. The bad part for you is your staing a hotel with a driving distant to San Juan of 45min. to an hour, depends in the time of the day, the hotel is so pretty. Another hotel for the Whyndham family is El San Juan Hotel & Casino, this one is in Isla Verde near the airport and is the nightlife center of all PR, in there you can found our best Disco "Brava". When you be here dont miss the Old San Juan ( in here you spend a day and in the night you can catch the best party site in the island and the most trendy restaurant in PR)), Arecibo Radiotelescopie (the biggest in the world), Las Cavernas Del Rio Camuy (near the radiotelescopie, you can make both of them the same day, and both are 45 min. from San Juan), our rain forest El Yunke, etc.

First of all, it's worth it. Puerto Rico is the best island in the world. Second of all, make sure to go near the ocean. It is beautiful. Make sure to go to El Yunque, Arecibo satelite (the biggest satelite in the world), and all of the sights. Just look in the internet and type the words puerto rican travel sights. I hope you have fun as I did.

I have lived here for over a year now, it's great. If you don't want to spend lots of money be sure to come inland a ways and you will be able to stay for not much money at all. Try some of the sites below, they do a better job at informing!

It is gorgeous. If you can drive or take transportation, I would suggest staying in Dorado(about 45 minutes from San Juan). You get much more for the $$. I am not sure about Westin Rio Mar resort. But in Dorado the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar is amazing. You can get a suite w/ a balcony & living room & fride & microwave for $225. It has a beautiful pool & hottub & has its own beach & restaurants. It has its own bar w/ live salsa bands playing each night.
Also go to El yunque rain forest- beautiful w/ waterfalls. Camuy caves are wonderous! La Parguera(near Ponce) has a biolumenesnt Bay. You take a boat ride out on water that glows at night. There are private beaches like culebra. Luquillo is told to be the most beautiful beach & Mona island is like the gallapagos Islands w/ sea turtles. Oh definitely visit El Morro(fort in San juan) & walk the beautiful colored streets of Viejo(old) san juan. People speak english in San Juan & other big towns. There is fishing, boating, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet skiing, any water activity u can imagine. You can horseback ride on the beach in isabella. Tour guides can take you to most major attractions. If you want to venture out rent a car at the airport & get a map. & the food is good. Try everything local. The best chicken is called Maelo chicken fever in Morovis/vega baja. Locals travel from opposite ends of the island to eat it. Enjoy!! Oh & july is good- no hurricanes.

Westin Rio Mar is a world class resort, if you like golf, you will enjoy it tremendously, just try to avoid the rainy season (now) or the hurricane season (August to November).

I have not been their.How ever,my cousins have.They stayed at the Presidential Hotel.I am told it is quite the hot spot to be to run into an see the stars."Movie Star"s " that is.
