Culebra
Culebra is famous for its coral reefs and white sand beaches. Culebra can be reached by plane or ferry from Fajardo. Call for current departure time to make reservation at (787) 863-0705 or (787) 863-0852.

Faro de Fajardo
Owned and managed by the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico, the three headlands that extend into the Atlantic Ocean from the Island’s eastern corner opened as a reserve in March 1991 and features a nature center and a 19th century working lighthouse, "El Faro". The carefully restored neoclassical lighthouse is the second oldest on the Island and offers a magnificent view that, on a clear day, reaches distant Caribbean islands.

Seven Seas Beach
An excellent beach next to the nature reserve at the end of hwy 987.

You will find many seafood restaurants and they are all extremely good. Do not be afraid to try them, even if they are not upscale restaurants they sometimes have the best food.

You could take the ferry to Vieques or Culebra islands, beautiful, untamed beaches there, specially Flamenco beach in Culebra. You'll also be pretty close to the rain forest. And there are many places to eat in the area, have the concierge recommend you some. If you're not staying at the Conquistador hotel, you should also go there, it's a beautiful place.

You can go to Viejo San Juan, is the place where you see all the P.R. history, and Ponce city.

Definitely take the ferry to vieques and culebra,if you don't do that, it's a wasted trip. Also, if you are into Nature, the Carribean Rainforest (El Yunque Peak) is close by.. about a 15 - 20 minute drive to the hiking trails. I went to Fajardo in March/April of last year. They were having a problem with the water, it was really really sandy and brown in some places. I don't know if it's still like that, but we managed to find some cozy smaller beaches.

Hello, if you are going to be in Fajardo, here are my suggestions:

Go to El Conquistador Resort (amazing place), the hotel owns a private island called Palomino that is postcard perfect. You will need to take a short ferry ride from the hotel for a few dollars. You will have a nice relaxing day there at the beach.

- Go to Vieques for the day - a must, take a ferry ride for a few dollars too, you will need to take a car in order to visit the best beaches on the island. Visit http://www.viequestravelguide.com for more info.

- Go to El Yunque Rainforest for a day

- If you love kayaking, you can do it at Icacos Cay and don't miss the bioluminescent bay, a magical experience

- A drive down to El Morro and Old San Juan will give you a taste of Spanish influence on the island.

Boy, there is just so much to see and do in Puerto Rico you may have to just go back, so you can see all the great wonders of this island.

Have a great time :)

Lost. at. Sea.
I agree with scorpion lady.
I will add a visit to El Yunque Rain Forest is not far from Fajardo.
Fajardo is full of good restaurants especially sea food. If you like sailing Fajardo is the place.
Buen Viaje!

Don't go to Ponce. I worked there for a year and have no fond memories, besides the people being friendly. Folks in Ponce don't care to speak English either.
