Fellow Trinis..What choice would you make?

Live in the USofA illigally or live in T&T with a government job & visit the USofA regularly? If given that choice, which one would you take or advise someone to take?....

I would advise anyone to not live here illegally, but if you decide to live for a short time, work hard and save the money and then go back home and settle down and utilize the money you save, be it to start your own business or get a house or whatever you decide to do.
But please do not live in the USA illegally, it's not worth it in the long run.
I have friends and I see what they go through or are going through.

if you have a good job in trini. why leave? living in the usa illegally makes your resources limited. you cannot better yourself in anyway. also when you retire you would not be able to collect any sort of benefits.

i think it depends on your family size. my father worked as a fireman when we lived in t'dad and it was hard for us as a family of 8. my uncle currently works as a police officer and its only him and his wife and its easy.

living in the US illegally is hard though. even though its the land of opportunity, I wouldn't advise anyone to come here illegally. its a lot of problems. getting your papers cost about $1000. when I came here it cost $200.

but i've seen some ppl come here for a short period of time work illegally go back home w/the money and move out of POS to the south.

Now Trini have it share of problems eh but me eh leavin the pot and jump in to the fire. Grass always look greener on the odder side but.... I could still pass by mammy for lunch, the beach only 20mins from me and family does help out each odder no matter what when crunch time come round we does rally.
If i up in ah next country without meh papers is i to ketch and nobody eh helping yuh tail so if i eh legit forget it.
Ah mean ting people say dey eh doing home when dey reach up dey is humble pie and DO IT and want to come back and say dey doing sooo good.

It is one thing to go out of your country and its another thing to find some thing to do, some thing good for that matter so as to earn a good leaving and be a good citizen. Going into any foreign country illegally will never help matters raither it makes you to live in despairs and fear of the unknown.

If its your vison to live a foreign country to earn your living, then follow a legitmate means so that you can be free because there is nothing better than freedom especially in a foreign country. Besides, visiting a foreign country is not a matter to debate, its all depends on the individual concerned because you cannot visit a country when you have no legitiamte business to do there. There is always no peace for those are not pure in mind specially in a foreign country because it might take the grace of God for them to return after their evil deed.

Go to where you can find your good daily bread and be at peace with yourself and others.

I Think if you do come to the states that you should file your papers immediately, it costs about $1000, but do that will help you, you will be able to get a job, if you apply for a work permit, which is a separate couple hundred dollars, if you come to the states, make sure you have a game plan to get legal quickly, or stay in your good job in trinindad, them govenrment job, hard to come by, good luck!!

please stay in trinidad. people are always very quick to encourage you to go to the states but wat they fail to tell u is that its better living in trinidad...how can i say that? becuz if ur poor in trinidad u could still go behind ur house and plant a garden. Up here u have to pay to poop, literally. As soon as i can i'm saying syonara to the us and heading to tnt. If u have a government job and could come up here on vacation do that. You could even come up and try to work a 2mths and head back home. If ur up here illegally u dont have anything, nor can u buy anything, no house, car land. Come up here and hustle a little if u can, but under no circumstances should u leave a job to come up here and hide becuz ur illegal.

Lets ABIDE in Him
Trick-C dey. I have a friend who live here in canada illigally and is pressure. All she could do is baby sittin and it hard . She bright but she ciar study nutten. People might say dat.. " yeah de standard ah livin might be better... " but yuh know what gyal. .. If you have ah good gov't wok and livin a pretty good life back home den treasure it and be a free person. Anyting illigal is ah prison. Like de fuss fella say..yuh go be livin in fear of gettin " found out" and deported. Den yuh comin home in shame and it hard to start back from scratch again.
Tell yuh friend tuh stay home. De world open up to we trinis.. plenty more people visitin North America and den goin back home to enjoy de trini slow pace.

In de end gyal everybody have tuh make up dey own mind bout tings. U could only give advice, but de choice is she own. Some people move here and den marry and begin ah life here...others like my friend move here and fuh years live substandard. If anyting happen tuh she, she can't go to de hospital or nutten. Is real stresssssssssssssssssssss.

Ah hope yuh friend make ah choice wit some consideration to she future.

take care eh ma

Generally, I think that life in Trinidad, government job or not, could be pretty hard. The things there could be rediculously expensive, and just because u work for a government job means that everyone else is doing the same. You have to remeber that America is the land of opportunity. There is by far more opportunity over here than in Trinidad. Here u get more second chances. Take it for example, SEA. Some kids are just naturally not as intelligent as others. But never mind that, they take the test and pass for whatever school they pass for. Whether it is junior sec, or convent. And if u live in an area like lavantille, ha, trouble for u. They will take that into consideration and zone u. So right there your education is basically screwed. 11 years olds are deciding their futures. Now compare that to the system here. There is so much more to help the kids. But it is not even just education. But that accounts for alot of it since it is that that will get u places. What kind of places are u going to get to in Trinidad? You cannot just think of yourself, I maybe workin for a government job but what about my children and family. Will they all work for government jobs too? They government schools cannot even afford to put toilet paper in the toilets, or provide some decent luch for the kids. Taking all these things into consideration, although i will always love my country and everyting (dais my home), i would have to choose living in the US illegally. Makes for a better life for my kids, and their kids. I know i'm only 14, but that's how i look at it. Cause i live in that situation. We don't have our papers fixed up yet, so we live like this. At least i lived in trinidad for some time so i can compare and contrast. My first hand experience has allowed me to come up with this decision. The only reason i goin back tuh Trinidad is fuh de food, de familee, de limin and partyin, and de culture. T&T sweet too bad!
