You only need a drivers license if you are a US citizen, if not then you will need whatever ID got you into the US.

Puerto Rico is part of the US, thats why it doesn't require a passort like other carribean places do. If you are ever worried about that stuff, you can always call your airline & ask. But believe me I was there last month, no passport, just ID.

ENJOY!! Puerto Rico is beautiful!! I suggest seeing the Morro (fort in San Juan), El Yunque & the Camuy caves

Hi,

Like the first answerer states.

If you are a US citizen or legal permanent resident you only need a valid state issued ID (like a drivers license).

Travelling to Puerto Rico is the same as if you wee going to another state.

This is the government site:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2225.html#9

As Puerto Rico is a territory it comes under this category.

If you are an US citizen a drivers license is all you need. Check with the airlines website to be sure. Enjoy. Puerto Rico is great

Always check with your airline with questions like this.

What's your Nationality? are You a Legal Resident or Us Citizen?

Us citizen and Legal Residents traveling from US ..all You need is a State ID.

Foreigners need their Countries passport and Visa...

If you are a US Citizen then, your passport and your drivers license will suffice. If you want to buy stuff with your credit card use the drivers license, its enough with that. You don't need to be carrying your passport to buy or to enter pubs or anything, just a drivers license its enough.

No passport needed but I sincerely recommend it. Check http://www.holasanjuan.com visitor info section for more about safety issues. Saludos, Raul

From the paragraph below, you definitely don't need passport, merely any valid ID such as driver's license. However, if you DO own a passport I would certainly carry it with me when traveling, although if you don't have one then there's certainly no need for you to spend any money to issue one.

"Entry requirements for Americans: There is no immigration control for United States citizens arriving from the United States. However, US citizens arriving in Puerto Rico from Central or South American countries, or from Caribbean islands, require proof of United States citizenship or a birth certificate; those arriving from elsewhere should have a United States passport."

Passport, and license or driver's license.
