Does anyone have an idea on where we can stay? the last time I was in Puerto Rico I was14 and we stayed with family there. that was about 12 years ago. My dad doesn't talk to his family anymore (that's another long story)So we are kinda on our own. And I think alot of things have changed since then!! LOL. Any suggestions?

How long are you guys staying? Because there is so much to do. To please everyone I would suggest staying atleast some of the time in San Juan. San Juan has all the historical sights like 'El Morro'. There are casinos, restaraunts, lots of shopping, nightlife, beaches & more. This way you guys can do all the day activities with your parents & then you can go out at night time. & actaully so can your parents, only you guys can go do the younger thing. Drinking is 18+ in PR. The best nightlife is in Old San Juan. But even if you stay in Isla Verde or condado (other parts of San Juan) you will only be a short cab ride away.

Also believe me, even if you are young & more focused on the entertainment side of things, you dont want to miss the incredible sights PR has. I suggest renting a car or taking bus trips(which might cost more if its a few ppl) so you can see everything. On the east near Fajardo there is 'El Yunque' the rain forest & you can walk down to La Mina waterfalls & take a dip in the refreshing water. Thats really cool. Plus Luquillo beach nearby is nice. & from Fajardo u can take a ferry to Vieques island which has great beaches & the Bioluminescent Bay (it glows in the dark when u touch it) you can take a kayak tour to the bay, its amazing. Or you can take the ferry to Culebra Island & visit Flamenco beach which the travel channel voted as 1 of the worlds best beaches! Its the whitest sand & clearest water u can see. In Fajardo or on 1 of these islands might be a good place to stay for a night or 2 as well. Fajardo has great top of the line resorts & Vieques & Culebra have quiet private villas.

If you go west from San Juan to the northern area you can visit camuy caves which is the 3rd largest cave system in the world! Its cool- u go down on a tram & then the tour starts. There is also the Arecibo Telescope which is the worlds largest radio telescope. You can see it on movies like 'Contact' & 'Jamesbond Goldeneye'. If you go farther west Rincon is the surfers paradise. Down south is Ponce which is a large city also. There are alot of museums & sights there as well. & the central region has alot of mountain views. Whatever floats ur boat. ENJOY PR!!

LOVE PUERTO RICO!

The only problem is that there is so much to do there. Also, there are different festivities going on at certain seasons. If you're into casinos, the Old San Juan is an awesome place for the night life. Beaches are everywhere - Luquillo Beach to me is the best by far. As far as hotels, I can't recommend one but my favorite Condado Hotel (which has a private beautiful beach, massage, casino, ocean front view suites, etc). I liked Bayamon because it introduces the culture of the Puerto Ricans. This is how they truly live donw there. Then on the East side of the island is town Ceiba. Beautiful! You can take Ferry to Vieques from there and their beaches are awesome too. Ponce has a lot of historical monuments and buildings. If you go to Old San Juan, make sure you eat at Jibarito Restaurant located at the top of the hill. The food is as authentic as it gets and very, very good!

Gosh, I wish I was going with you! Enjoy your trip!!! :)

I think it depends on your budget. If you are able to pay a little bit more, you should stay at "EL Convento" at Old San Juan, It is a little bit expensive, but it is located in the middle of Puerto Rico's most historic place. This hotel is beautiful It have great food and the rooms are awesome, you should check online for rates and see if you like it. If you dont have a lot of money then you have a little problem, because PR is very expensive at least the hotels. If you are looking for beaches then you should stay at Dorado, a small town about 1/2 hour from San Juan. If you want to try something new and not too expensive, then you should try the west part of the island, like Aguadilla, Mayaguez and other cities , they have pretty beaches too, but cheaper, because they are not like the very best attraction. If you are looking for a very relaxing and nice place like very country, you should try Hacienda El Jibarito at San Sebastian.

By the way you should try: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourism_in_Puerto_Rico

or search for "Puerto Rico Travel" in google.
