No...it is not a 10 to one ratio. There are about 33.7 pesos to one American dollar. $3.70 has nothing to do with it. If you do it the other way around, , one peso is worth about 3 cents in American money.

you will get 33.70 per us dollars, a little tip, never pay for anything in dollars other than your hotel, always use there currency to pay for stuff and you will save a lot

Hi,
This is how it goes
for every US dollars you get 1x33.70=33.70 Dominican pesos
so if you change US$100x33.70=3,370.00 Dominican pesos
RD$100.00 Dominican pesos= $2.97 US Dollars
RD$200.00 Dominican pesos=$5.93 US Dollars
RD$500.00 dominican pesos =$14.83 US Dollars
RD$1,000.00 dominican pesos =$29.68 US Dollars
RD$2,000.00 dominican pesos =$59.36 US Dollars
(dominican bill money donimation)
Etc, etc..
Hope this help you a bit.

Hi!,
It is very simple : for 1 us dollar your have 33,70 Rds (Pesos Dominicanos) so for example if you change a bill of 100 us Dollars you will receive 3.370 Pesos Dominicanos.
I hope this helped.

giannina g
what that means is that you will recieve 33 pesos to your one dollar bill. so if you gave them $2.00 you will get 67.40 pesos. and also depending on where you exchange your money. Some places charge less pesos for you dollar. Not much of a diffrence mabey like 31 pesos to your $1.00

davehill999
got home from punta cana today 28/02/08. for each u s dollar you will get 33.70 pesos. they will accept euros but u s dollar is best currancy to use.

I was in Sosua in January and when I exchanged $100 I would ask the exchange rate BEFORE I did my exchange. Most Currency Exchanges would offer only 3000 pesos, I would counter with 3500 and they ALWAYS agreed. Not once did they refuse to exchange at the rate I asked. Check the D.R. section of http://www.MyTravelFest.com and there is a nice Currency Converter at the bottom of the D.R. page.
