For a day trip take a plane. The ferry departs from Fajardo on the east side of the island and is 2 hour journey to Culebra. Is the cheaper way to go. If your are staying in San Juan check the plane rates in the Isla Grande airport, is a small airport close to Condado and Old San Juan. Flamenco Airways is a local small plane line that fly regularly to Culebra. Is not cheap but is the best idea for day trip. The beach of Flamenco is one the most beautiful in the world, no doubt. White sands and clear waters. Avoid weekend days because in summer many people are on vacation in P. R. and they love to spend weekend in Culebra.

two ways: Ferry boat (from Fajardo ports and there are several trips in the morning and the last one coming back from Culebra leaves at 5pm). Rent a Cessna plane. The flight I believe can leave from San Juan or from Fajardo. I've always used the Ferry boat, but you must be there really early, like 7am, no later! IT's cheap to get there, but bring plenty of $1 bills. Once you get to the port in Culebra, you will need to get into a little van/taxi to get you to Flamenco beach. If you have snorkeling gear, make sure to bring it, it's beautiful!!!! You can also bring a cooler with your snacks, sodas and of course birritas! (beer!), and plenty of sunblock. The sun will kill you there!

The best bet is to drive to Fajardo, about 30 miles east of San Juan (Be prepared for traffic). From there, there are several ferries that go to Culebra.

From San Juan either you take a Small airplane there or you drive to Fajardo and take the Ferry..

To take the Ferry You better be there Early.....

You can drive to Fajardo and pay $4 to get in the ferries ,or by plane from San Juan.

?
Check with your tourist information center at the hotel you will be staying. You find the tourist informationist throughout San Juan. Enjoy yourself, protect your skin and take lots of pics. ENJOY MY COUNTRY

The hotel can rent you a car for the day or they might already have day trips for hotel guests available. You can't actually take your car to the island but you can take it to the port where the ferry leaves from.

Yo soy boricua
You can go by boat! I went by boat, but I am not sure if it was from San Juan,or u can just ask there!

Enjoy Mi casa!
