Actually, that Hard Rock closed over half a year ago.

If it's Caribbean food you're looking for I suggest these restaurants in order:

1. Cuzzin's Caribbean Bar and Restaraunt (340) 777-4711
The best Caribbean restaurant in downtown. I suggest you make reservations.

2. Lillian's Caribbean Grill (340) 774-7900
Only open for lunch

3. Iggie's Beach Bar and Grill (340) 693-2600
You should definitely catch the Cruzan Rum Carnival Extravaganza on Wednesday nights. Steel band, limbo, and Caribbean specials.

4. Fungi's on the Beach (340) 775-4142
I think they're only open for lunch too.

I think all these restaurants a very affordable. Check out the site listed below to see if there are any other restaurants you'd be interested in.

Red Snapper! It's on Back Street - just behind Main Street. Right next door to the library, very hole in the wall - but delicious! Ashleys is also good, especially right around lunch time. It's right near the airport, a great stop on your way off island as long as you aren't leaving first thing in the morning. I've always thought that Cuzzins was overrated myself, but other people rave about it, so maybe I've just been there on off days!

Fungi"s on the beach is very local last time we were there as well as Glady"s rest in town in Drake"s Passage i believe. Try the conch fritters. They have the best locally made hot sauce if you like that kind of thing. Make it themselves!!!!! don't miss Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook some some great drinks. Also don't miss Coki Beach. Get your cocktails from the "Mailman" He makes the most awesome Mango Colada. The snorkling is the best there by far!

Go to the virginislandsdailynews.com they do a best of list every year. When I go back home I don't really eat out but I recommend Bluebeard's and The Red Snapper...

Go to Fodors.com and click on TALK for Carribbean. Ask there and you will be sure to get great responses.

There is a Hard Rock Cafe down town Charlotte Amalie on the water front. It was reasonable.I didn't eat out much their as it can get spendy. I went to the K-Mart and loaded up on food and cooked in my room. Much cheaper.

All the restaurants are Carib. Affordable, depends on the person. There are restaurants all over the place. Just look for something where the people look like you.
