Actually, Sandals and Beaches are what is called "sister companies" and so they should have a free shuttle between the two.
I have vacationed in Montego Bay and Negril. Negril is, by far, my preference. The water is clearer, the sand is so fine that you cannot pick up just a single grain, and the water is warmer.
Either way, you are in Jamaica, you can't go wrong.
Check with your Conciere' about transportation. They should be able to help you out.
Have fun. I find Jamaica truly "Soul Cleansing".

As a jamaican I would say that you are better-off hiring a car or renting one. if you just get a tai to get you there they may overcharge you. otherwise try and find out the fare before you just try and get a taxi. where is the person getting married? it all depends on where the person is getting married.

Sandals offers a free shuttle between resorts. When you arrive, ask the front desk for the schedule.

If you go to TripAdvisor.com you can read dozens of trip reviews written by previous visitors to the resorts. You can also view "candid traveler photos" some of them posted. After doing that you will have a much better idea of what to expect out of the resort.

Most resorts have a list of recommended taxi drivers and will call to get you one of them. That will you will be assured of being safe with the driver.

Went to mo bay 2 weeks ago. I hated it. Drove past Sandals and that looked beautiful. But in mo bay the people don't leave you alone, pulling you into shops and begging you to buy something. Everybody is the waiter in your hotel!! Spoilt my time there. I never felt safe in jamaica and wouldn't go there again. Been to the caribbean a few times but this was the first time we had to sign out if we went off the hotel beach as they weren't responsible for our well being.

It is good, the taxis are good, but you would feel better renting a car, as you would probably want to go out and explore and stay out late, but you should be fine.

if you are a "regular" person

like you don't mind 40 people sharing a normal sized van, or pot smoking, or people getting out to pee, things like that

then you can travel very cheap, $5 or $10 mostly

if you are fussy and have luggage and so forth , then take the JUTA taxi's, expensive
