It was the first country to gain its independece from France in the W Hemisphere. It was once a rich colony. but once i gained independence, France took all its wealth to keep other islands and colonies from wanting indepence also. the sereies of poor rulers and war in Haiti have also made things worse. more money goes toward fighting than for the ppl. |

its just that since we got independence by are selfs we think that we can do everything by are selfs and we dont want to look weak asking different countrys for money or help. |

It is a failed state. Ironically its early independence resulted in a weakening of the economy rather than an equitable redistribution of wealth and opportunity.
