Has a hurricane ever hit the Caribbean (Cuba, Barbados, etc...) in December (early or late)?

Just wondering...since I heard Hurricane Season runs from Aug-Nov.

Thanks!

:)

The truth is the truth
A hurricane can strike at anytime of the year in the Caribbean since they pretty much have the same temperature all year long.

It has been known to happen, but it is unusual. Last year we had Tropical Storm Olga. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2007/OLGA.shtml?

The hurricane season if from June to November 30. Barbados is the most easterly of the Caribbean Islands and so escape the majority of the hurricanes. Nevertheless that does not mean that we will not have one. The last that we have experienced is in 1955 with hurricane Janet but it was not in December. Normally you do not get hurricanes in December.

Cuba has experienced some storms recently like I doubt very much that they had one in December.

On the other hand I am not God so can't say whether or not there will be one in December. The way things are going we just might have one. We have a black president for the first time and for the first time last year an earthquake. An apartment building collapsed and killed about five people and shocked the whole of Barbados.
