Has anybody ever been to the Atlantis Paradise hotel in the Bahamas? |
I have a young child and I was thinking that we would go to this resort in a few years when she turns 10. Has anybody ever been to the Atlantis with young children, and did they enjoy themselves? I read other post and I know not to buy the meal ticket to go across the street where the price of food is much cheaper. |

Your kids will love that resort! To keep your costs low ask for an inroom fridge and buy your pops and waters across the street they have many shops and restaurants that is alot cheaper then buying your meals at the resort.
Have fun

adding to what everyone else has said they also have disovery camp for kids which is alot of fun (first hand experience back in the day :D) and they have club rush which is for teens and pre teens only and it had a bunch a games and activites ready for the kids. But no matter what age you decided to travel at atlantis is fun for all and b-e-a-utiful. Make sure you go to arawak cay and get some authentic bahamian food and engage in very funny conversations too |

I have been to Atlantis,it will be a wonderful, unforgettable experience for her,she will love it!!!!There is several tours you can go on throughout Atlantis with many different attractions, the rooms are expensive and only if you are staying in them will you be allowed access to watersports, the big pool and beach. But I am sure they have a place online where you can get your questions answered. But on the whole your money will be well spent and worth every penny. |

i've been blessed to have gone 2 years in a row, to atlantis, they have just opened a new part of the resort just for the kids. they have water slides, a calm beach, a kids dance club, dolphin experience. there is a lot for them to do. the people are great ! i met a few people this past march and we've been keeping in touch through the internet, and can't wait to get back there, next march. true if u eat in the resort , it is expensive, but just across the bridge is downtown nassau, and there's burger king, subway, etc, at the same prices as the u.s. have fun, after all, it's paradise. |

It's a Children and Adults paradise. Perfect for any age. Aquaventure, largest water attraction in the world, Dolphin Cay, where you swim with the dolphins and interact with them, Marine Habitat and pools and beaches to swim in.
Awesome resort. Who wouldn't enjoy themselves.
When you are ready to go, I'm sure more attractions will appear.
We did eat at the restaurants, it was hard to get in sometimes. And yes, it was expensive. You will have to pick and choose. It will take a day to find your way around to everything.
Enjoy

We go to Atlantis a few times a year, and we have 3 young children (have been going since they were babies!!!) I have twin girls (6) and a boy (5).
First of all, the food is expensive anywhere you go on Paradise Island. But there are some places better than others. Also, sundry items (like toiletries and sunblock) are outrageous, so double check your suitcase before you leave and don't forget anything, or you will end up paying $20 for a small tube of sunblock.
If you have room in your suitcase, pack some juiceboxes or Capri suns or water, their water is very expensive and it helps to pack drinks for the little ones. Just wrap them good or ziplock them so they don't leak in your bags by accident.
If you are looking for cheaper dining, travel away from the resort, but in my opinion, you would be missing out. It is better to save up and go when you can afford to eat at the really great restaurants they have. Mama Lu's, Carmine's, and Bahamian Club are the best! Murray's Deli is a great family place and more reasonable as well. The best place to eat lunch is the Lagoon Bar & Grille (big shell restaurant in the middle of the water, you can't miss it)
They have a brand new kids water playground that is great for kids of all ages, and there is a snack bar and bathrooms right there which is so convenient.
It will be the best vacation of your life! I wish I could live there! When we are at the airport leaving to go home, my kids make us promise when we will bring them back again.
The only downside (other than the price) is that the resort is very big so you will be doing a lot of walking, but all the walking and sun and fun makes the kids go to bed nice and early! Get an in-room babysitter (they're all great!) and enjoy the nightlife! |
