Has anyone been to Jamaica? If so what city and hotel and please add your comments about it?

I have been to Jamaica. We have always stayed in Ocho Rios Sunset Jamaica Grande and Sandals Grand Ocho Rios. It is a nice town and not as big of a party town as Mo Bay or Negril. Negril is very nice but kinda like spring break. We stayed a day there our last vacation. The sunsets on the 7 mile beach are beautiful. Treasure Beach area is also nice. Very quite and not a lot of tourists there. Near Treasure Beach is the Pelican Bar and it is a bar that is out in the water about 1/4 mile. You have to hire a fisherman to take you out. It was great. The fish and conch are literally pulled right out of the water and cooked when you order. Ochi is nice. But this is where all the cruise ships dock so, town is busy and shops are crowded and the prices go up. It is close to Dunns River falls which is 600 feet of crystal clear water you climb up. If this is your first trip to Ja. you will love anywhere you stay. There are tons of things to do wherever you are. The whole country is beautiful and the people are all so warm and nice.

Hello i have only stayed at Sandals Dunn's River Resort, but my father in law and my mother and brother stayed at the Sandals Grande, but place are great if you can relax, if your a party person then you should listen to jeannie brim, you have to remember this is Jamaica and things are different, plus Ocho's Rios is a two hour bus ride from Montego Bay, but it is a very rewarding ride to see how the Jamaican people live, as this is a very poor country, plus this bus ride is kind of a free tour, some people don't like the ride and choose to stay in Montego Bay. but if you want a nice relaxing place to stay and truly be on vacation then maybe Ochos Rios is for you, i also have heard good thinks from Ochios Rios Riu (spelling) and also the Sandals Whitehouse out side of Negril again an hour and a half ride from Montego Bay. you can also take a puddle jumper to both places about 14-20 minutes and a cost of i heard $280 round trip. but the bus ride is very interesting, plus the Dunn's River Falls, and Tubing are over here, if you choose to go to ocho's make sure you go for no less than 5-6 nights as two of the days are for travel really a day an a half. also check out these web sites www.tripadvisor.com this site has tons of pitcures from people who have been there and reviews. also check out www.sandals.com

Recently went to Sandals Whitehouse, on the southwest end of island, about 90 minutes from Montego Bay, and I absolutely loved it. Even my fiance who isn't a beach person, wants to go back and get married there. Last trip my daughter got married there. It is the newest one on the island and what I like especially is every room is oceanview, whereas at other resorts you have to climb the room info chart until you find the first ones that offer that, so at Whitehouse, you can get the deluxe (cheapest) room and still have oceanview. The food was good, many cool activities at night and day, martini bar and disco, etc.. The people were absolutely the most professional, courteous, helpful people I ever saw. I would highly recommend Whitehouse.

Sandals- Montego bay is nice and you don't have to take a winding road to get to this hotel. Nice staff treats you like KINGS.

Ocho Ris or Negril... Sister got married in Negril and I visited Ocho Rios a few years back...
