Has anyone been to the Caroni swamp or the pitch lake?

I have been to both the Caroni Swamp and the Pitch Lake.

I have been to Gasparee Island & Gasparee Caves known as "down the island" and I have always found some treasure.

Been to Asa Wright Nature Center, my kids loved it, they did well with the food as well.

Botanical Garden and the Zoo.

Whenever I visit Trinidad with the kids, I make sure they see all the beautiful things Trinidad has to offer.. my son loves the bird watching, he's all into birds.

I can't remember some of the names right now but ti will come to me soon, in growing up my dad always made sure we saw the beauty and wonders of Trinidad, my dad would pick a spot and we would go hiking or camping every other weekend. So i've visited a lot and even as an adult now, i try to do the same with my kids, Not the every other weekend thing.. but as much as I can.

I been to pitch lake, but my sister, my uncle and i just drove around, and stood on some of de tar things, when i visit Trinidad next, i wanna go to caroni swamp.
we take lots a things 4 granted, wild fowl thrust......can't think of the rest.....

Why is it I could never focus on the blame question?? My sister says I have ADD. I starting to think she's right yes! I readin de question and all I see is "daughter". TS has a daughter?? TS has offspring?? That dotishness on the loose in other people?? God help us all!! Perhaps she takes after her mother ;-)

I too would have to say the Bird Sanctuary is one of the attractions we take for granted regularly. I was googling pics of Trini once and this group visiting from Germany had all these beautiful shots of different birds in the sanctuary. I was so ashamed that I had never even bothered to check it out. :-(

well ive been to both places, unfortunately, it was when i was alot younger, so i dont remember much. but its true sometimes we do take it for granted.
foreigners go there more than us!
some other place are like "Fort George, Bird Sanctuary"
cant think of any more right now...

When I was younger I been to the Caroni swamp..it's reallll beautiful & I been to the pitch lake, numerous occasions.. and d zoo.. last time i went to the pitch lake, my cuz took me and have me sittin in d car watchin d pitch like i could see from dat far..cuz he was fraid to come out d car (cuz he fraid he get rob)..dat was a waste of a trip.. see we siddong dey watchin pitch from d car..

yes, Caroni and seen the scarlet ibis, oh and a 2-toed sloth in a tree
-Asa Wright centre to see the birds
-I've seen the last train to san fernando
-the markets in Chaguanas
-the wild, wild beach at Mayaro
-the pitch lake was not so exciting.
-Hindu temple out in the sea
-Richmond House on Tobago
-the food, shark-an-bake
-chinese restaurants

the sheer variety of T&T that is found nowhere else in the world

My family used to go to the Caroni swamp regularly for vacation when I was young. I have memories of swimming in the swamp. I know there is also a waterfall in Maracas somewhere.

There is the Devil's Woodyard in Hindustan New Grant, Wild Fowl Trust, Fort George Hill, Shark River after Toco, etc. Will get back to you on the rest when i remember nah.
