Darth Nihilus

Has anyone here been to Maho Beach in Saint Maarten?

I know about the airport. I'm just curious about watching the planes land there.

Was there in November and it was GREAT! And yes, the jets and planes land right over you so low you swear you could jump up and slap their wheels (when the KLM 747 comes in, if you stand on the road between the beach and fence at the end of the airport, I think you could!)

The Sunset Bar is right there to the side right on the beach and has the landing times listed on a surfboard (pretty cool) and has the control tower traffic playing over the loud speakers. And when I say right by, you virtually walk out of the bar and down the beach about 50 steps away and are right over the landing path of the planes.

Go here to see a picture I took at Maho Beach.... http://chez884.orfay.com/photo/394241

The best place to go to watch the planes is Sunset Beach Bar. If your on the beach, the sand will blow in your face. Doesn't feel to good.

go to this site and get more ideas

Have fun on your trip

Yes u can go and look at the planes land and take off from by Maho Beach. Best bet go by Sunset Beach Bar. Just watch out though cause sometimes the blast from the planes can throw u back in the sea and u can get sand in ur eyes.

I agree with the others, the best place for plane watching and having a drink is the Sunset Beach Bar. We had a ocean view room at the Maho Beach Resort & Casino and we could sit on our balcony and watch the planes. I think the planes and the diamond shopping was the best part of our week in Sint Maarten!!!

how does it matter to u? if some1 has gone to the airport than how does it quench your curiosity of 'planes'
