Jamaica is beautiful! See a travel agent and they can provide you with vacation catalogues of the different hotels in various parts of the island.
3 - 5 star services hotels are available. They are even private accommodations online if you have enough experience to do it on your own.
Try this link and see it it helps..

Went to Ocho Rios in June. Stayed at a Sandals. It was beautiful- and very worth the money. Spoke to others staying at different resorts- they all seemed to have some negative thing to say about where they stayed. We have NO NEGATIVE comments about Sandals Dunn's River |

Yes I went to Negril Jamaica last year for four days. It was wonderful. We stayed in an ALL INCLUSIVE resort - so you did not pay for a thing once you go there - all the food and drinks were free. We went snorkeling, sailing, swiming, had massages, mani's and pedi's - completly relaxing! |

My wife and I went there on our honeymoon. We really liked the resort (Starfish Trelawney) which was fairly family oriented, the Luminous Lagoon, and Dunn's River Falls. We didn't leave the resort on our own because there were people waiting outside to try to sell us nicknacks and ask for tips for every little thing. |

Went to Ocho Rios back in May. It was okay but probably will not return. Yes, it is beautiful and the ocean is a sight to see but the poverty is just unlike anything I have ever seen. You feel very guilty as Americans while driving around and seeing how some of these people live. We had a two hour ride from Montego Bay airport to Ocho Rios so we got to see a lot of the sights. We stayed at a very nice resort called the Royal Plantation. It is an all-inclusive resort that is owned by Sandals. We did not leave the property all week simply because we were not brave enough to venture out alone and because we just wanted to lounge around seeing as it was a vacation.
Jamaica is nice to see once but there are so many other places that we want to travel too.
Just as a note, I have been to Aruba and that is absolutely great. Safety is not an issue there, regardless of what you hear on the news about Natalee Holloway. That is a fluke thing, we were able to freely rent a car and drive all over the island and feel perfectly safe. The island is just remarkable! |

I went to Jamaica for the first time 10 years ago and I will NEVER return. Half the people were hateful to black americans and the other half were hateful to white americans. Why they felt the need to let their hatred be known to tourists who were spending their money to provide them with employment was unbeknownst to me. Sheer STUPIDITY. My trip was turned into a nightmare not knowing which group I would face during the day. SAD SAD. And the worst thing is that when black americans embrace Jamaicans who migrate here they have the nerve to discriminate against them worst than white rascist. Eventhough they come here poorer than the poorest black american living in the projects, unskilled, unkempt, poor family backgrounds they attempt to con the American public into believing they are ARISTOCRATS. What a Joke. I think a LOT of the reason Jamaicans are hated is because of their dual religion which attempts to embrace Christian and voodoo religion at the SAME time. Many of them say the god they serve is both good and evil. This type of religious practice leads to very immoral, unethical behavior, and divides them from the regular Christian Black AMerican community whose mission is to do what's right. Jamaicans come here with the same attitudes, behaviors, and morals that have caused their own country to become such a hell hole they will do anything to escape and instead of abandoning these ways in the new world they contaminate american society. |

I have never gone but my parents went to the Half Moon Resort. Though the resort was beautiful they did not like the necessary safety restrictions set by the resort. Please don't take this the wrong way but Jamaica is a dangerous country. Some parts are rich and some parts are poor, the people that are poor sometimes steal from the tourist. They will instruct you to not leave the compound that your hotel or resort is on, and to not trust even the local cab drivers. There are cases of people who go on "tours" and get robbed. I am not knocking Jamaica, because it is beautiful, just be careful and don't go exploring without a guide. |

Yes, I went to Jamaica. I found it as a stop on the Long Island railroad. It was alright.
Cookies Department Store at 166-21 Jamaica Avenue is one of the biggest discount shops in the downtown area.
There are numerous good restaurants. |
