Have you been to the Dominican Republic?

Can someone tell me what it is like in the Dominican Republic. I am going there this summer. I am going to be staying in a missions compound in Hato Mayor. I am flying into Puerto Plata. If you could give me some insight as to what I will be facing that would be great!

yes, it's very beautiful. Palm Trees, good food, great weather. I wasn't born there, but my family does and i've been going since i was 1 yrs old. You'll love it. There's a website where you can have more info. Trust me, it helps you.

I have been there a few times and it is beautiful, nice weather not humid like canada and united states, palm trees and fruit trees all over. good music. a nice place to go is "el malecon"

i have it's such a nice place if you do i advise you to go to a resort with beaches, boardwalks and like near stuff such as rollercoasters. if ur going in summer then...well...my best advise would be...bring suntan lotion cuz it's sweating there.

3rd world country, people are very ignorant and stupid, but yet there very nice, especially to aliens, but other than that its not one of my favorite places, i cant stand all of the ignorance

I lived there and departed from Puerto Plata. They stole everything out of my checked bags. This is normal there. If you find an honest Dominican let me know. Terrible place to live. Be very careful.
