My family and I vacationed in Puerto Rico about 4 years ago. We rented a car and drove through the entire area, south,west,north and east.
We loved it so much we bought a house in Fajardo,PR.
Puerto Rico is an excellent place, if you know where to go.
In the Fajardo/Carolina area of PR-north east side, you'll find El Yunque-National rainforest, which is free.
In San Juan you can take a tour of the Bacardi Rum Distillery.
In Ponce, the French version of PR, you'll find several lovely bakeries, the old fire station,and art museum.
In the Fajardo area, there is a private beach called Seven Seas.
On the far East side are two islands that you can get to by ferry, Vieques and Culebra. There are several safe walking trails that lead to private, clear water, beautiful beaches.
You do not need a passport if you are coming from the US.

I stopped there once while I was on the Cruise. It was a port of call on the Carnival Cruise more than 11 years ago. It was fun to visit. Dont' know how it is to stay there or live there. |

I went there more than once and see nothing wrong with the place. In actual fact, i love it. Other people might have different experiences but you should go for yourself and experience it. It is a very big place. |

Well I live here and Puerto Rico is a Beautiful place to be. Romantic? Yes...Dangerous? depends on where you go. Yea but It is a Nice place to visit you do have to see it for you're self and if you love the beach I recommend you go to Manati...You will fall in love with that beach...You can see all different types of fishes even dora and nemo,but you have to see it for you're self vacation is good living here sucks.... |

I'm from there. I love it i go there EVERY SUMMER! It is beautiful! The water is so blue and the beaches are beautiful! It's only a 3 1/2 hour trip.
EDIT: To live there is great but you have to get used to the heat and the smell of PR. Some areas of PR have a smell of pork. You could get a great tan over there. |
