I have played twice, including this year. It is truly amazing. It's basically a street parade with women in Victoria secret type garb. The women are of all races. Trinidad is a country of mixed races many Indian women as well as Chinese, African and tanned persons of mixed heritage, French, Syrian, you name it. You will spend most of your time ogling at beautiful people. All the wealthy and middle class people in trinidad participate in the bands that parade their costumes. Everyone in the country participates in one way or the other, whether through steelband or calypso or singing lively soca songs ( just as lively as your typical reggaeton song). You'll probably never in your life see so many beautiful women in one place. If you play with the right band, you will feel euphoric for two whole days. The rest of the year seems dull until carnival comes again. Port of Spain, where the main festivities are, is a big city with a huge park, so there are literally tens of thousands of people on the street and action everywhere |
