For Jamaica
1 it has everything hawaii has including weather, surfing and whining up your hips to dance :)
2 we have 2 unique religions with african retentions
3 the mix of people and cultures is like sampling food from every continent.
4 We have reggae which leads to reggae dancing and parties a whole world of expereinces including bob marley
5 we have lots of exotic plants, birds, insects etc.
6 no volcanos-but mountains and rivers and cockpit country the most intoxicating scenery you will ever see
7 We have a better transportation which means its easy to get around - accessibility
8 cheaper... to the dollar u can get lunch here for 3 USD and that is a whole meal... not junk stuff... rice and peas and jerk chicken or curry etc.
9 jerk pork is better than luaua pork
10 The people... :) beside it sounds better to say i went to Jamaica!

If you like marijuana, go to Jamaica. Also Jamaica's all inclusives are the way to go. I am going in October and I cant wait to smoke herbs and get trashed all day. |

They're both lovely if you hit the "back" spots. Hawaii has a choice of islands, and you can "hop" around during your stay. You can also ski and snorkle in the same day! |

Hawaii definitely. Went there in 2006 and it is the most amazing place in the world. Would go back in a heartbeat. Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian islands and is absolutely beautiful. Lost is filmed in Hawaii. The best surfing beaches are in Hawaii. They don't have any dangerous animals etc there. Extremely friendly people. Very clean. Sunshine & lovely beaches if you want peace & quiet, lots of activities if you are more adventurous. |

I've never been to Jamaica. I've been to Hawaii 2 times. I almost moved there last summer but I had to finish up with school. I still want to move there. I've met very few native Hawaiians. when I was there last summer the job market was better than great. there are more jobs in Hawaii than people willing to work. I was told by several locals that most of the people that live in Hawaii would rather sunbath & surf than work. the only down side to Hawaii is that anything you don't want stolen keep with you at all times. if you have a rent-a-car don't lock it, that way the windows don't get smashed out. I don't think violent crime is high. you just can't leave your towels and bags on the beach your stuff will be gone when you get back. always have your one of your friends watch your stuff. I had too find out the hard way. |
