We're flying out to The Maldives in 2 weeks for our honeymoon. Costing us about £1450 for 2 of us including transfers full-board for 7 nights through lastminute.com.

Although the tourist part of the islands don't have much culture its white beaches and azure oceans make it ideal for honeymooners, hotel resorts provide their own entertainment and there are also lots of water sports and coral reefs for you to explore.

Another thing to consider is that if sea levels continue to rise these islands won't be around for much longer, so we're visiting while there is still time.

Sri Lanka is good value for money too, I wanted to go there but I couldn't get my partner to agree :D

Barbados - there are lots of low and mid- budget places to stay and eat on the south coast.
You will certainly get lots of sun, lovely sand beaches and a range of entertainment there.

Dominica (Not Dominican Republic)

Situated between islands of Guadelope and Martinique in East Caribbean. Called the nature island, considered to be what the caribbean would have looked like had it not been discovered. Is the only island to have the native people of the Caribean on it (Caribs). Has population of roughly 70,000

Popular for water sports (diving in paticular), hiking & adventure &spa's

Jolly Harbour, Antigua!
My husband and I have rented one of these self-catering villas on three seperate occasions. Antigua has 365 beaches, plenty of sun and entertainment.
Some of the best beaches are Half Moon Bay, Turners, Darkwood, Jolly. There are so many beaches that often you can have one of these beautiful places all to yourself.

We have been to all the following for roughly your price band
Mauritius
Sri lanka
Barbados
Mexico
We are off to Cuba shortly and without going premium class its in the price range. All our holidays have been all inclusive with all transfers etc!
check travel agents on line. there are plenty holidays ( each hotel and area can be double checked on tripadvisor.com)
Try going for 10 days instead of 14...can cut the cost dramatically!( Last minute.com have some good holidays but be careful as they have a habit of changing the hotel days before you leave...got the t-shirt! so have others i have spoken to!)
Good luck on your Wedding day and 'happy Honeymoon'

You can get sunburn & sand in your swimsuit almost anywhere! Since it's your honeymoon, might I suggest something far more romantic that you will remember for the rest of your life? Go to Paris. Buy a bottle of wine, and some bread & cheese, and eat it under the Eiffel Tower. Take an evening barge on the Seine. Buy a bottle of wine, and some bread & cheese, and eat it at the Pompidou Centre.

Make sure to say "hello" to everyone who smiles at you, and tell them you are on your honeymoon. People in Paris LOVE people who are on their honeymoon, you'll have all kinds of unexpected adventures!

Congratulations!
