I really love the Bahia Principe chain.

I know they have resorts in Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana and I think La Romana.

I've stayed at the Bahia Principe in Mexico as well as the one in Puerto Plata. The Bahia Principe San Juan in Puerto Plata is about a 4 star resort and is pretty affordable. I stayed there this past march and had a great time! Its a little secluded but its alot of fun there. Lots of activities and stuff to get involved in! Only thing is I found the beaches in Puerto Plata not to be as nice as the ones in Punta Cana. They arent "crappy" but they dont have the clear clear blue water and white sandy beaches.

Also try the Barcelo chain and I heard the gran ventura was a really great resort for a good deal.

Iberostar punta cana!
it is absoulutly beautiful! It is also all inclusive, which means you pay one price for the trip. That means all the food during the trip is already paid for. You can just go on the beach and there are food buffets all ready for you to eat. It has good entertainment and a good enviorment.

Try something different!!! Everyone goes to Punta Cana look at Las Terrenas a small town on the North Coast. www.lasterrenasweb.com list the hotels in the area.
This is the fastest growing real estate market on the island.

Punta Cana Princess. Best resort in Punta Cana. It is a small resort and adults only (16+ fannnnnnntastic) BUT you have access to its two 'sister' resorts that are just next door (short walk down the beach or you can jump on their little trolley that drives between the three). Tonnes of activities, people are super friendly, and the food was decent (better than your average all-inclusive).
