well Barbados is a nice place to come...there is great relaxation, great shopping and extra great scenery!

The place we visit is in Jamaica. www.treasurebeach.net
This is on the south coast of the island. Very rural but VERY safe. There is only 1 big hotel but the community makes a living through their locally owned guesthouses and villas. Some are expensive and some are less costly. We will be there this Christmas and new years. Day trips to Negril and surrounding attractions are easilyy do-able. I think this area is very affordable to eat and drink. Have fun choosing.

The least expensive places in the caribbean are Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, followed by Mexico. Check dynamictravel.com.

Christmas is always way more expensive to travel to the caribbean. But the cheapest will probably be Puerto Rico or the Dominican Repuiblic. & they are really nice around christmas time too

Try Antigua, they wont be booked because they are a highly unkown and exotic vaca spot. Google their hotels but I think Jolly Beach is really nice yet affordable

Anyplace in the Caribbean is going to be expensive in the Winter season, especially at Christmas. And it is way too late to try and book something for this Christmas, anyway.

Some of the resorts in Belize and Roatan, for example, are less expensive than some of the more well-known islands, though.

But the high season starts in mid-December in any tropical location. If you really want to go near Christmas, you could plan for next year and go between Thanksgiving and Christmas, or earlier in November.

FWIW - You might want to consider a cruise to the Caribbean. November is an inexpensive time and it's at the end of hurricane season.
