I stayed at the Marriott in Aruba a couple years ago and they do have Iguanas in a tropical area near the pool. But they stayed in that area and on the rocks and they are big enough for you to see very easily. So they will not be scurrying around under foot. Because of their size they cannot get into the hotel, not that they would want to.
The hotel has a huge pool area so you can sit a long way away from them and you will also likely spend more time on the beach than near where they are. The hotel is otherwise great and you will have a great time at it. |

As the others have said, you will see iguanas outdoors, but they're too big to sneak into a room. I never saw any lizards, insects, or any other wildlife in the room at the Hyatt. You're more likely to have a problem with that here in the United States than in Aruba.
By the way, my girlfriend is deathly afraid of reptiles as a rule, but even she had to admit that some of the iguanas were pretty, especially a bright emerald green one we saw outside the hotel.
[edit]
I was there in June, so I don't know from experience what it's like during spring break, but I wouldn't expect it to be quite as packed with students as the top spring break destinations such as Cancun, Fort Lauderdale, or South Padre Island. Still, I'm sure you'll encounter some of them at any beach destination, and some are lured to Aruba by the lower drinking age. According to what I've heard, the busiest time in the islands is Carnival, which reaches its peak the week of Mardi Gras in February. It will be over by the time you go. |

Aruba is a very nice place for a honeymoon! It's very relaxing, and everybody is really nice. I doubt you will find a lot spring breakers; Aruba does not have much of a party atmosphere overall (though there is some partying if that's your thing.) We ran into a couple that was doing the whole all-inclusive, drink-until-you-drop thing, and they really looked out of place in Aruba. Go to Mexico, Jamaica, or Dominican if you'd rather do that.
There are lizards and iguanas all over the place. But they won't bother you as long as you do not feed them!!! We saw lots of birds trying to pick up crumbs in the outdoor restaurants too. The weather is constantly 80 degrees and humid, with a strong breeze blowing all of the time. However the beach is comfortable; the sand never blows around, and the wind keeps you nice and cool. Because of the wind we really didn't notice any bugs.
Aruba is a safe island, practically the entire place is yours to explore. Go out to eat, drink, and have fun. It is somewhat expensive, especially the bars. It is a small island nation so a lot has to be imported. But most everything costs what you would expect to pay in any large city in the US. We packed a small, collapsable cooler to take to the beach and stocked up drinks at the grocery store when we got there. |

Aruba is not bad and It think you will be safe from the lizards but you should consider Fiji and get some info on the Fiji trips before you book. Fiji is hands down the best island beach honeymoon and is just as affordable as the other places you mentioned.

There are iguanas around the pool area, they are cool to watch totally non-threatening and quickly move away from guests. Honestly not something to be nervous about. I can't imagine them getting into rooms, they prefer the sun and plants. I have never seen snakes in Aruba before.
It really is a great vacation spot, one of my absolute favorites. |

The lizards actually make the trip more fun. I went to Aruba and lizards walked around the pool area. They won't do anything to you as long as you don't like step on their tail or something. I didn't see any snakes at all though. Aruba is beautiful! The water is crystal clear and it is very fun to go snorkeling. You should go to Aruba around May June or July because it is still hot here in the states. If you go in March or April, there will be a lot of people since it's a bit colder. |

Spring break is around april. And no im sure theres not many people going there for spring break, its not really a party atmosphere, except at night if you chose. Its really relaxing, one of the best vacations i've ever had.
And no, there arent that many lizards as you think. many of them have dissapeared, said my aunt and uncle who have been vacationing there for almost a decade. They took me there two years ago, and im going back this comming year.
Dont be scared of the lizards either. many runaway before you come close to them and the bigger ones dont disturb you at all.
If you're scared of them maybe try the Hyatt or the Playa linda (i stayed there) They are located right by if not, ON the beach. Not sure about the mariott.
There are no mosquitos whatsoever! and i love that. bugs are very minimal. snakes, you hardly see them. i've only seen one in a bush when someone spotted it out.
Actually there are spray cats running around aswell, very friendly ones might i include.
Its a 21 x 5 mile island, you can literally walk it .
you can rent a car into town, many jewlers and some outdoor malls.
Dont hesitate to ask for dirrections. The people are wonderful.
you can also but phone cards if you needed to call home. Thats what i did when i got homesick.
Your hotel should have daily activite to do to keep you busy,
dont worry. you will not regret it!
