They stay the same. No difference
There is still an embargo
Right, Stephen, you are right. But the slight inconvenient is that WE CANNOT tell our government what to do. THEY tell us what to do. Just try to tell our government what to do and you will see what happens
And besides, our government was NOT elected
Avalon adam, are you being paid to spread comunist propaganda here, or do you do it out of the badness of your heart ?
What do you know about Cuba ? |
|

Don Camilo
|
No variation. Why do you think that might have changed ?
Oh, avalon adam, I see that you talked with the comandante and absorbed all its ideas
You should stay in Cuba and help the brothers to build comunism |

Same as usual.
Or perhaps we can say that Raul is a little less hardheaded than fidel and seems a little more prone to improve relationships with the USA.
Yes, there is still an embargo. To remove it, the USA asks fidel ( and now the little brudder ) to allow freedom, elections, and other things that the evil brothers will not allow
fidel is afraid that if he allows that, the evil USA will seize Cuba and destroy the disaster that he has worked so hard to create in Cuba
Or ?
No. fidel is a sworn enemy of the USA |

For the last 50 years have been bad. fidel and the brudder are still there. Why you think something may be different ?
Perhaps after the evil brothers disappear
Oh, avalon adam, I am pleased to see how much you know about us and about our country.
Just where did you learn that ?
Hum, Cuba will trade with the USA and free elections will follow. May I know why the free elections will follow the trade with the USA ?
Enlighten me
By the way, us, the Cuban mafia, happen to belong to OUR country, and as soon as the brothers disappear, we shall return
Very sorry if you are not happy with us returning to OUR country |

I have just returned from Cuba and I must say that the US embargo was one thing that GUARANTEES the Castro brothers stay in power. the Cuban people don't like the system they live under all that much but they like the US embago even less. The embago serves one good thing, it ensures Canada and europe do good trade with Cuba and the tourist industry is booming without loud fat Americans and drug dealing Cuban mafia exciles everywhere. Thats not to say all Cuban exciles are mafia , no , no.
Unlike many south American countries, death squads do not take people in teh night and children do not die of disease that could be treated. things are far from perfect and there is little freedom of speach but Cubans do enjoy a good education and healthcare, in fact the best in the carribean. Hopefully Obama will drop the embago and Cuba will trade with the US and free elections will follow.
NowI will sit back and enjoy watching all teh right wingers and a small minority of Cuban exciles living in Miami send me hate messages. |

democracy= patriot act, water boarding, $200 million to campaign for president (rules out 99.999%) etc etc etc etc
cuba is FAR from perfect but there are no nivaras in this sad world let us all be friends and tell our govts to do what they are elected for that is looking after us not harrasing people we have never met. |

Yes there is still a trade embargo. But both sides have been talking about talking.
"The U.S. policy of shunning communist Cuba by imposing a strict trade embargo has failed to prod the island nation toward democracy and should be re-evaluated, according to the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
"We must recognize the ineffectiveness of our current policy and deal with the Cuban regime in a way that enhances U.S. interests," wrote Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., in a report dated Monday.
