How can an American travel to Cuba? |
I'm getting married in April 2008 and would like to have my honeymoon in Cuba. Are there any legal methods of travel that I could use without possibility of State Department or immigration problems? |

Go through Canada, people do it all the time!
Check with your Travel agent to see who has direct flights from what city as seasonality changes on the West coast more then the East.
or try some Canadian tour operators for their schedules out of certain cities.
Air Canada Vacations, Sunquest, Air Transat Holidays, Sun Wing, Signature Vacations etc.

A few weeks ago on web adress http://emienco.freehostia.com is published one funny joke with similar problem. Father, whose take family on summer holidays on same question as yours says to son: "Shut up son and swim!" You got a serious problem and this answer is just to relaxation. Hope you'll find another way to visit Cuba and I wish you success. Have a nice time. Best regards, Neven. |

This is not technically legal, but lots of people do it...
Travel through Canada. In Cuba, ask them not to stamp your passport. |

Take GRUPO TACA (its a airlines) fly to either Belize, Honduras, or Mexico from the US... then from there you can purchase a ticket on TACA to Cuba .. they wont stamp your passport they just give u a travelers pass..
P.S. Cuba is very beautiful |

It's not illegal for Americans to travel to Cuba, but it's illegal to spend money there. If you are from the Northern States, just travel to Canada and get a flight from there. The Cubans will not stamp your passport, so there will be no proof you were there. |

There are no legal ways for Americans to travel to Cuba as a tourist. Some exceptions exist for other reasons (humanitarian relief, journalists, family re-unification), but tourism or a honeymoon is not one of them. There are those who circumvent the law by traveling through other countries, but this is NOT considered legal. |

As an American, you aren't supposed to, but you can fly to Canada and get a flight to Havana. If you do go, I recommend you try Havana Club Rum, which is illegal in the U.S. due to the trade embargo. This hard liquor is probably one of the better in the world. |

You can take an airplane or a cruise or even a boat but not a car or train. |

Well, thousands and thousands of US citizens go to Cuba every year. You can go to Mexico first, then go from there. You probably don't want them to stamp your passport. :-) |

No, any one that said theres is no legal way is wrong. The only legal way to travel there is with an educational group, like a choir or a class trip.[i know this b/c my choir was invited to sing there but turned it down b/c of all the extenive paper work] but other then that there is no legal way |
