Right, the Cuban Immigration do not stamp your passport , they only stamp the tourist visa when you get in and collect the
tourist via when you leave......BUT for a US citizen it's illegal to travel to Cuba without a license from the US Treasury Dept.
for more details see http://www.treas.gov
This license is granted for business, humanitarian, cultural and special occasions ....NOT for hollidays, vacations etc.
Several US citizens go illegal to Cuba via Cancun or Toronto.
When you return to the US and the US immigration finds indications of a trip to Cuba you can get a fine up to 1,000,000 US $ and up to 10 year prison. So don't buy souvenirs , cigars, Cuban rum etc.

better be sure you have absolutely nothing identifiable as Cuban in your possession when you come back. Also, you have to tell ICE the countries you have been in--if you omit Cuba, you are lying to feds (but if you tell them the truth, you will get a big fine).
Unless you can get official OK to go (humanitarian, visiting relatives, etc.) this could be a very expensive trip for you |

I'm not sure. But you should be able to check at the State Department website to see about travel restrictions to different countries. Just type "U.S. State Department" into your browser. |

People holding US passports travel to Cuba all the time from Grand Cayman. (Many Caymanians hold dual nationality through having been born in the USA.) There are several flights a week. Here is just one example: http://www.travelproscayman.com/5170339_16905.htm
You could buy your Cuban souvenirs on Grand Cayman, where some of them are cheaper anyway -- just keep the receipts! |

Yes it's true Cuba will not stamp your passport. The only way you can do this is via another country such as Canada or Mexico....but is probably better through Mexico. It is illegal without US permission or license. However if you have family living in Cuba you can always go every year.
Check the links below for ways to do this without problems.
Keep in mind that you cannot buy anything in Cuba to bring back with you. You won't want to leave paper trails such as receipts, tickets, flight baggage tickets, etc. as well.
That being said, do your homework well and if you are able to go to Cuba, by all means go and enjoy yourself. You will love being there. |

The interesting part is:
It is "legal" for Americans to go to Cuba. BUT:
• It is illegal for American to have transactions (spend money or receive gifts) in Cuba under MOST circumstances. But,
• It is legal for American to have transactions (spend money or receive gifts) in Cuba if they have a "license", but
• The government is arbitrary about how it interprets its rule and who it issues licenses to. Â
read all about it here.

you will be fined thousands of dollars if caught. Don't take the chance) |

Try going to another country, like the Dominican Republic, then traveling from there. |

You are right Cuba does not stamp passports for arrivals on a Canadian flight. If you live near a Canadian city the prices are very inexpensive for air only or AI. Check the sites below for prices. In Cuba you cannot use U. S. travellers cheques or credit cards. Not to worry just take Canadian cash. Good luck. |
