You'll have to take a non-American airline there, which means you'll most likely need to go through Mexico or Canada.

Since July 1963 the US has had a complete embargo against Cuba. It is illegal to travel to Cuba with special permission from the US Treasury's Officer of Foreign Assets and Control. Now are you willing to have your passport revoked and pay a penalty of $10,000? If you are willing to take those chances then you can get to Cuba by going through Mexico, Canada or The Bahamas.
The US has no embassy or diplomatic relations with Cuba so if you chose to break the law and something happens to you, you truly are on your own.
Overall not a smart idea.

You can't. It is against the law for a US citizen to go to Cuba and no airline or ship travels to Cuba from the US.

You need to fly into a Canadian airport and then fly with a Canadian airline to Cuba. The major airport in Canada is Toronto, so you would probably fly into that one. All US airlines fly into Toronto. If you are on the west coast of the US, you could fly into Vancouver, or Calgary.
