It's a pity you don't like spicy food, cause we have a lot of that here. If you can tolerate it, at least try Jerk chicken/pork. Depending on were you go to eat, perhaps you could ask for it mildly done.

Curried goat and escovitch fish is spicy. Do try the festival as a side dish...it is good (not so sure if the description the website gave is very accurate...how I would describe it is that it is cornmeal and flour mixed into dough and then fried, and people usually eat it with fish, as well as jerked meat...It's really good)

And try a patty, even if it is a vegetable one. You will never have a real Jamaican experience until you had one. Trust me, you'll love it.

I love Jamaican food very much, especially the fact that most of our meals are mixtures of many other global cuisines.

Jamaican food can be quite spicy, they have the second hottest pepper in the world (Scotch Bonnett). Ackee n codfish, Oxtail, Brown Stew chicken and stew peas are a few dishes that aren't very spicy but quite flavorful.

Well jerk pork and festival is my favourite!

But I really love ackee and saltfish with dumplings for breakfast. It took me three years to get accustommed to ackee, now I love it, and haven't had it in just as many..sigh.

Escovich (sp) fish is lovely too, I had it at Port Royale, yum!

Ooooh and Patties, love them. My favourite Jamaican soft drink is Ting.

let me start by saying it's the best place ever, we have the best food.please try jerk chicken roast fish, and try and get some of jamaica's tradition dish, like blue draass, run dung and among others.

I love the Jamaican cuisine, I like it hot and spicy(though not over spicy). I'm not really into the sweet flavors though, can't eat too much or I'll start to feel sick.

My favorite dish is Ackee and Saltfish and favorite snack is Big Foot and St. Mary's Banana Chips. Jamaica food is delicious ! I just haven't really tasted it yet. When in Jamaica I tend to eat the same thing over and over and I'm always to busy going out ( since Jamaica's so fun ) that I forget about food sometimes. The scenery and everything just beautiful and amazing to look at.

coming from a jamaican family if you dont like spicy things you can usually tell by the smell. to get a good experience of jamaican foods try a spectrum of things...sample different meats, different fruits, not just mango try things like a jamaican apple or a star fruit. plaintain is good and make sure you try some desserts. don't eat anything unless you know the main ingredients. example: a stew ofmeat might look and small good but turn out to be goathead. use caution

Drink a D&G cream soda and eat some curry goat and white rice. Then have a slice of carrot cake for dessert. Jamaica have the bestest carrot cake
