Japanese are almost none existent,however there might be a few i would not say 100,but less,you may find more but they may be tourist,or visitors on business.
Wikie;
The majority of the population is of African heritage. East Indians are the second largest racial group, followed by Chinese, Caucasian and Arab (primarily Lebanese). A small number of Hispanics, mostly from Latin America, also reside in the city.
Jamaica on a whole.
The Jamaican population is primarily of African descent (90.9 percent), with mixed race people making up 7.3 percent of the population, East Indians making up 1.3 percent, and several other ethnic groups rounding out the total.
Chinese are more common as they own alot of businesses ranging from super markets to to small shops and etc; |

Japanese are present in Jamaica but do not represent a major part of the demographic. I would say less than 1%.
However, Japanese as tourist are pretty common in Jamaica and are becoming more prevalent as regular fixtures in the dancehall culture. There are some Japanese that are quite famous in Jamaica, such as Junko the former dancehall queen, Mighty Crown - dancehall selectors and others who are having an impact with their presence at the popular street dances.
Jamaicans really welcome people from other cultures so Japanese should feel comfortable visiting.
On the other side, do you know any Jamaicans in Japan.? I will be going there next April and wanted to get the view of some Jamaicans there on what the experience is like. |
