How much do Cuban cigars cost in Havana?

I've looked around the net a bit but haven't got any straight answers. I'd like to know how much a box of 25 cigars would go for in Havana (and NOT black market). I realize that what type of cigar I get will be a huge factor. I'm willing to pay about 50-60 CUC pesos. for a box of 25.

thank you.

For those who didn't understand the obvious.. That's why I'm asking about Cuban cigar prices in Havana. I would never pay $30 per cigar like here...but down there I hear you can get a whole box for about $50. Why wouldn't I? I'm there.
Second of all, they are not considered the best in the world by Americans...they are considered "the best in the world by"....get this..."the world". Who woulda thunk?

I bought a box of twenty-five Montecristo cigars for $125.00 from a cigar factory in Havana in 2004. At the time they were still taking US Money. These are the high end cigars and I'm sure you can get lower end cheaper.
Only buy from the factory's. This way you know your not getting banana leaves wrapped up in a tobacco leaf.

I was given a cigar by a vendor on the street in the hopes I would buy something from him. It took me several tries before I could light it, and then the thing smoked and crackled like it was going to explode.

To see if a cigar is the real thing, hold it up to your ear and role it between your fingers. You should not hear a crunching noise. If you do, it's fake.

Don't be fooled, I've been to Havana a few times and there are only a few places that are licensed to sell real Cuban cigars, the rest are fakes on the black market. The pricing is pretty standard, if someone is negotiating with you, then they are fake. Last time I bought some, it was a box of 12 and I paid about $2.00 US (after conversion) per cigar for the cheaper ones. For my Dad, I spent around $5.00 US for the best ones. Good luck, if you get the real thing, they are well worth it.

A box "real " originals will cost you 400-500 cuc about 500-600 US dollars. Real Cohibas are sold for 15-20 dollars each in the state shops . Don't buy the street cigars , black market or from a fiend who works in the cigar factory ....all these are fake and counterfeit cigars even the certificates and holograms are counterfeit. In Cuba the fake cigar business is bigger than the real one. For 50-60 cuc you can only buy counterfeits.
The magazine Cigar Aficionado still rate the Cuban Cohiba Lancero as one of the best cigars with 92/100 points.
Dominican Republic is also well rated.

Check out the link below. All the information about how and where to get them and how much they´ll cost. From what I understand, the cheaper they are, they´re fake...the real ones are expensive. But again, the link hopefully can tell you more info.

I was in cozumel and bought a box of 5 cohiba for $30 if that helps-didnt have any problems with them either.

Cuban cigars are overrated. Just because they're illegal in the US doesn't mean they're highest quality cigars. Do some research and look for cigars in the Honduras and Nicaragua regions.
